Our 2026 Coalition Meeting
Hello Erie County Suicide Prevention Coalition Partners,
As we approach the start of our third year together, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible progress we’ve made as a coalition since May 1, 2024. Your dedication, expertise, and collaboration have been the driving force behind our shared successes, and I am deeply grateful for the commitment each of you brings to our mission.
With growth comes opportunity—and the need for progression. To ensure we remain effective, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of our community, it’s time to make some structural adjustments to how we operate.
We are fortunate to have passionate, active partners who consistently step up to make things happen. However, as the saying goes, a handful of people cannot carry the work of many. Our initiatives are strong and full of potential, but follow-through has sometimes been impacted by staffing changes at supporting organizations and gaps in communication.
A coalition is only as strong as the collective effort of its members. If we are to truly save lives and support one another, it takes all of us—sharing the work, the responsibility, and the victories.
Coalition membership isn't just a name on a roster. It requires participating, contributing, and collaborating toward our shared mission. We need active engagement from all members to be effective.
Our Strategic Workgroup virtual meeting is cancelled, and a special Erie County Suicide Prevention Coalition meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Erie for County Health Department, Lower-Level Conference Room at 2:00 p.m. to discuss your feedback and explore changes that will help us become even better partners. Our agenda will include:
Coalition structure and decision-making processes
Meeting times and frequency
Fundraising strategies and opportunities
Event participation and promoting
501(c)(3)
Your voice and your active participation are essential in shaping the next chapter of our coalition. Please come prepared to share your thoughts, ideas, and any questions you may have.
Thank you for your continued partnership and belief in what we can achieve. I look forward to seeing you at the meeting and building an even stronger coalition as we enter this exciting new phase.
Enjoy your Day,
Cheryl
