Persuasive writing is a form of nonfiction writing that helps people formulate specific reasons for their opinions and provides an opportunity to research facts related to their opinions. It is the type of writing that can influence or change someone's thoughts, opinion or actions. Persuasive writing is used in advertisements to convince customers to buy a product. It is the type of writing that is used in debates and by politicians when they want you to vote for them. Lawyers are good at persuasive writing, since they have to convince the judge or jurors on the innocence or guilt of a defendant.
