If you want a versatile, reusable surface to hold loose items like keys, sunglasses, and phones without any mounting hardware, choose ecocstm Dash Mat; if you need a permanent, heavy-duty adhesive foundation specifically for a suction cup phone mount or GPS device that must stay put through rough terrain, choose Girnfac Car Dashboard Pad.
• ecocstm Dash Mat: Its biggest strength is the unique mesh design that grips small, loose objects securely on flat surfaces without adhesives, but it requires a clean, smooth dashboard to work effectively and may not stick well to lacquered finishes. This pick is for SUV owners who need a flexible, washable mat to organize clutter in the center console area.
• Girnfac Car Dashboard Pad: Its biggest strength is the high-load-bearing adhesive tape designed to anchor heavy electronics like mounts and dash cams permanently, though it is a single-purpose accessory limited to round mounting bases and comes with a smaller footprint. This pick is for drivers who have already invested in a specific phone mount system and just need to replace worn-out adhesive disks.
The ecocstm Dash Mat operates on a completely different principle than traditional sticky pads. Instead of relying on glue or suction cups that degrade over time, this product utilizes an enhanced adhesion system combined with a deep textured mesh surface. The goal here is friction. By creating a high-friction interface, the mat holds items in place through mechanical grip rather than chemical bonding. This makes it ideal for the chaotic environment of a vehicle interior where things slide around constantly. The dimensions of 10.8 inches by 6.4 inches provide a generous canvas, allowing you to corral multiple items simultaneously. You can place your cell phone, a pair of sunglasses, car keys, and even coins all on one pad without them tumbling off when you hit a pothole or slam on the brakes.
The material composition is another major factor for those concerned with longevity and climate changes. Constructed from PVC and PU gel, this mat is engineered to withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -20°C to 120°C. In the dead of winter, the mat remains soft and pliable, and during scorching summer days under direct sunlight, it resists melting or deforming. This heat resistance ensures the texture doesn't break down, maintaining its ability to hold items securely. Furthermore, the waterproof nature of the material means spills don't ruin the grip; you can simply rinse the mat with water or wipe it down. Once dried, the adhesion returns to full strength without leaving any sticky residue behind.
Who should buy this? This is the clear choice for SUV owners who often carry a mix of loose essentials and value a tidy dashboard. If you frequently switch out what you keep on your dash—sometimes a phone, sometimes just sunglasses and keys—the reusability of this mat is a game-changer. You can move it to the armrest or a different part of the dash if needed. However, you should skip this product if your dashboard has a highly polished, lacquered, or genuine leather finish. If you need a solution that doesn't involve any gluing or peeling, this is your go-to option.

In contrast to the free-floating utility of the ecocstm mat, the Girnfac Car Dashboard Pad is a precision tool designed for a singular, critical function: securing a mount. This product is a mounting disk specifically sized at 2.77 inches in diameter, intended to serve as the bridge between your dashboard and a suction cup mount, magnetic holder, or GPS device. The core value proposition here is the strength of the adhesive backing. Unlike the friction-based grip of the other option, this pad relies on a thick, strong adhesive tape that offers a high load-bearing capacity. The design intent is to eliminate the common frustration of suction cups losing their grip or adhesive disks falling off after a few weeks of use.
The construction focuses on stability and heat resistance to ensure the mount stays exactly where you placed it. Made from high-quality plastic with a stable structure, the pad is built to handle significant climate differences without melting or hardening. This structural integrity is vital because a mount holding a heavy tablet or a large smartphone exerts significant torque on the adhesive point. The seamless adhesive backing design ensures that the bond remains consistent over long-term use, meaning you won't have to constantly reapply new pads or deal with devices sliding across your windshield while navigating bumpy roads. The package includes two pads, which is a practical consideration for replacing worn-out disks before they fail completely or for having a backup ready.
This product is best suited for drivers who have already purchased a specific phone mount or GPS unit and are looking for a reliable replacement base. If your current suction cup mount keeps slipping or your old adhesive disk has lost its stickiness, this is the targeted fix. It is particularly useful for those who need to mount heavier devices like dash cams or wireless chargers that require a solid, immovable base. However, if you do not own a suction cup mount or a compatible device, this pad serves no purpose on its own. It is not a general-purpose organizer; it is a component of a larger mounting system. The size constraint of 2.77 inches means it cannot hold loose items like keys or sunglasses unless they are attached to a magnetic plate or similar accessory.
• Best for loose item organization → ecocstm Dash Mat: If your primary goal is to stop keys, sunglasses, and phones from sliding around on the dash without any hardware, the wide, textured surface of the ecocstm mat provides immediate friction-based security.
• Best for heavy electronic mounting → Girnfac Car Dashboard Pad: If you need to attach a heavy phone mount, GPS navigator, or dash cam and require a permanent, non-slip anchor point, the high-load adhesive of the Girnfac disk is the only viable option.
• Best for flexibility and movement → ecocstm Dash Mat: The ecocstm mat allows you to reposition it anywhere on a flat surface, wash it when dirty, and reuse it indefinitely without losing adhesion properties.
• Best for long-term mount stability → Girnfac Car Dashboard Pad: The Girnfac pad is engineered to prevent the "creep" or slippage that often happens with standard suction cups, offering a more permanent solution for fixed devices.
• Best for temperature extremes → Both (different mechanisms): Both products claim excellent heat resistance; ecocstm handles -20°C to 120°C with its gel material, while Girnfac ensures its adhesive and plastic structure remain stable despite climate shifts.
• Best for multi-device setups → ecocstm Dash Mat: With its 10.8" x 6.4" footprint, you can secure multiple items at once, whereas the Girnfac pad is limited to holding a single mounted device.
• Best for ease of cleaning → ecocstm Dash Mat: You can simply rinse the ecocstm mat with water to remove dust or dirt, whereas the Girnfac adhesive pad is a one-time application until you need to replace the disk entirely.
• Best for SUV owners needing clutter control → ecocstm Dash Mat: The larger surface area and lack of permanent installation make it ideal for the varied storage needs of SUV interiors.
After analyzing the specifications and intended use cases for both products, I would personally buy the ecocstm Dash Mat for my own vehicle, especially as an SUV owner. While the Girnfac pad solves a very specific problem for mount users, the ecocstm mat offers a broader range of utility that fits the unpredictable nature of daily driving. The ability to quickly organize loose items like keys and sunglasses without drilling, gluing, or worrying about suction cups failing in the heat is a superior convenience. It transforms a slippery, reflective dashboard into a functional workspace for essential tools. That said, if you already have a high-end phone mount that is slipping, the Girnfac pad is the necessary repair tool for that specific issue. But for overall dashboard management, the versatility of the ecocstm option makes it the smarter investment.
Yes, the deep textured mesh surface creates enough friction to hold a cell phone securely in place without it sliding off during sudden braking or on bumpy roads.
The product description states that the operation is easy and will not damage the dashboard surface when changing the position later, provided the adhesive is applied correctly to a flat, dry surface.
The package includes 2 car dashboard mats, which provides sufficient quantity for long-term daily use and prevents inconvenience if one pad gets damaged or loses adhesion.
