Environmental Conservation through Optimisation, Modelling, Analysis, and THeory
We are a research group in the School of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Queensland, developing and applying mathematical methods to inform biodiversity conservation and environmental decision-making. We use quantitative modelling, formal mathematical analysis, simulation, optimisation, and statistics to address critical questions such as:
How do we feed the world sustainably?
How do we assess the status of threatened species and ecosystems?
How do we identify effective actions to support biodiversity and the environment in the face of extreme uncertainty?
