Directors

Director

Will Alford is an incredible Trombone player, and educator who is well versed in many brass instruments. Mr. Alford in his second year as Director of Bands here at ECHS.

Mr. Alford attended Columbus State University where he earned his bachelor's in Music Education (2007). While at Columbus State, Mr. Alford was an active member of the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Trombone Studio. Mr. Alford earned his Master's in Music Education from the University of Georgia (2012).

Prior to becoming the Director of Bands at ECHS, Mr. Alford was the Associate Director of Bands at ECHS (2008 - 2017). Mr. Alford was then the Director of Bands at Effingham County Middle School (2017 - 2018). During his tenure at Effingham, Mr. Alford helped to increase the band program from 100 kids to approximately 270 kids today.

Mr. Alford is an active member of the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) and the National Association for Music Educators.

Assistant Director

Anthony Jones is a talented percussionist, and music educator currently in his third year teaching at ECHS.

Mr. Jones attended Georgia Southern University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education (2004). While attending GSU, Mr. Jones was a part of the Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and the Southern Pride Marching Band. Mr. Jones earned his Masters in Music Education from Boston University (2010).

Prior to coming to Effingham, Mr. Jones was the Director of Bands at Jane Macon Middle School and an Assistant Director with the Brunswick High School Marching Pirate Brigade.

Mr. Jones is an active member of the Georgia Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Educators, and the Professional Association of Georgia Educators.

Assistant Director

Lindsay Sandberg is an accomplished French Horn player and teacher. She is currently in her second year as the Director of Bands at Effingham County Middle School.

Ms. Sandberg attended Georgia Southern University where she obtained her Bachelor's in Music Education (2012), and her Masters in Conducting (2015).

Ms. Sandberg is an active member of the Georgia Music Educators Association and the National Association for Music Educators.

Assistant Director

Kristen Watts is an exceptional flute player and educator. Mrs. Watts is currently in her second year as the Assistant Band Director at Effingham County Middle School.

Ms. Watts attended Georgia Southern University where she earned her Bachelor's in Music Education (2015), and her Masters in Flute Performance (2018).

Ms. Watts is an active member of Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA).
