Joshua Trey Barnett is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University, where he is jointly appointed in the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences. He is the author of Mourning in the Anthropocene: Ecological Grief and Earthly Coexistence (2022) and dozens of scholarly essays in journals like Environmental Communication, The Quarterly Journal of Speech, and Ethics & the Environment. He is currently the associate editor for special issues of Rhetoric Society Quarterly and an associate editor of Culture, Theory, and Critique.
