SUNDAY SCHOOL PARENTS: On Sept 22 the Sunday School kids will have a painting craft, for our 75th Anniversary Event. Please ensure your child brings a painting shirt or smock to wear on Sept 22nd.

MEMORIES OF EBENEZER: For Ebenezer’s 75th anniversary, we would love to hear from you about what your most memorable moments at Ebenezer CRC have been over the years! You will find cards in your mailboxes, and we invite you to write down some of these memories. The memories can be from 6 months ago or 60 years ago! The cards can be returned to the designated box in the foyer and as our celebration approaches, we will be sharing these memories with the congregation!

ANNUAL QCHS EAGLE RUN/WALK: You are invited to the family fun Eagle run/walk and free breakfast on Sat, Sept 14. Cost is $10-$60. Registration 7:30 a.m., races at 8 a.m.

 

REGISTRATION: The new season of GEMS and Cadets is starting soon! Registration night is Oct 1 at 7 p.m., and will be a great chance to meet the leaders and learn more about the program. Both programs are open to kids from grades 4-8. For more information, contact the church office.

 

BROKEN WALLS CONCERT: In honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Broken Walls will present a concert at Hope Fellowship Church (1685 Bloor St, Courtice) on Sept. 29 at 7 p.m.  A free will offering will be held.  brokenwalls.com or officeadmin@hopefellowship.ca for more information.

 

PREGNANCY CENTRE FUNDRAISING UPDATE: We are continuing to collect money for the Pregnancy Centre for the month of September. The money raised in combination with the 4 churches in our area will go towards our goal of raising $16,000 to provide the computers and office furniture/supplies needed for 4 offices in the new Centre.

 

Please donate by e-transfer or drop off your donation in the second offering box and designate the donation to the Pregnancy Centre, as this will be in addition to our regular second offering. We will also be collecting baby wipes for the care closet and having a special offering in the evening service on September 29th.

CALLING ALL SINGERS!! - SEPT 29TH COMBINED CRC EVENING SERVICE AT EBENEZER CRC: There will be a worship team for the Combined CRC Evening Service on September 29th 6 p.m. at Ebenezer CRC that will feature worship leaders from Frankford, Brighton, Bloomfield and Trenton CRCs. This leadership team will also include a combined group of singers from all the churches that will help lead the congregation in singing. If you love to sing, we would love to have you be a part of this group. It will be a great opportunity for you to help lead the 4 churches in worship. The songs will be very well known with no new or difficult parts to learn. There will be a practice the afternoon of the 29th at 4 p.m. Please contact Gary or the church office to sign up, or for more information.

 

PFCQW GRAND OPENING: Please drop-in on Sat Sept. 28th  from 1-4 p.m. for the GRAND OPENING of the new Pregnancy and Family Care Center of Quinte West at 35 Ontario Street, Trenton. Enjoy a tour of the facility, have some snacks and refreshments, and be a part of the official ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. The Centre is beyond grateful for everyone who has been supportive, assisted with the build, and helped the ministry grow so the Centre can serve more individuals in need of support in the community. 613-392-0074

SEPTEMBER 22 OFFERING: Our second offering is for Youth Unlimited Quinte. (Youth For Christ) YFC works together with the local church and other like minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus. As a part of the body of Christ, Quinte YFC ‘s vision is to provide opportunities for every young person in the Quinte area to hear & respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be welcomed into discipleship. qyu.ca

 

 

Highlights of the September 5th, 2024 Council Meeting

·  Committee of Administration Chair attended the meeting and reported on the status of the rooftop units as well as the roof.

·  Council revisited the HSR Fact Sheet as well as what took place at Synod. A subcommittee has been put together to discern a plan for discussion moving forward.

·  75th Anniversary Rep reported on the events that will take place at our Celebration on Oct 27th.

· 2nd Period Report from CAP was received for information.

·  Delegates have been chosen for the Sept 24 Classis Meeting in Cobourg.

·  The Fall Congregational Meeting will take place on Thurs, Nov 28.

·  Council agrees to hold its next regular Council meeting on Thurs, Oct 3, at 7:00 p.m.
