Welcome to the EBEL at PKNU

Our main research fields are biological waste(water) treatment processes including: 

- anaerobic digestion of organic waste(water) to produce biogas and biochemicals

- biological nitrogen removal and recovery from waste(water)

- bioconversion



In our lab, we particularly work on strive to advance the knowledge of microbial ecology and community dynamics of such bioprocesses to find clues for improving performance and stability of the processes. We conduct fundamental and applied research with lab-scale and industrial-scale experiments (1) to achieve process optimization, (2) to develop new strategies for process control and prediction, and (3) to design novel biological waste(water) treatment processes.

EBEL 구성원은 폐수, 폐기물의 처리 및 자원화/에너지화를 위한 환경생물공정 연구를 수행하고 있습니다.

주요 연구분야는 “유기성폐수(폐기물)의 혐기성 소화를 통한 바이오가스 및 생화학물질 생산 연구”, “폐수(폐기물)의 생물학적 처리 및 생물전환 연구” 입니다. 신공정 개발, 공정 고율화 및 공정 최적화 등을 목표로 하여 원천기술개발부터 산업화를 위한 실증연구까지 폭넓은 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 많은 관심과 협조 부탁드립니다.
