On March 24, 1920, after several previous attempts to separate from Brookfield, then Governor Calvin Coolidge signed a bill making East Brookfield an independent town.
Throughout the year of 2022, there will be several events to commemorate East Brookfield, the "Baby Town of Massachusetts" as the youngest town in the Commonwealth, at the age of 100.
Main events include a "Roarin' Twenties" Dance on April 4 and a Parade and Family Fun Day on September 12. Other events throughout the year include an ice skating party at the town beach, historical talks and tours, a cemetery walk, and more!
Since 2016, the 100th Anniversary Committee has been raising funds to make this celebration special. Click on "Fundraisers" at the top of this page to see how you can get involved!
