Eaten ("the App") is a recipe analysis and cooking assistant. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Google Sign-In: When you sign in, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. This is used solely for authentication and displaying your profile within the App.
Recipe URLs you submit for analysis
Recipes saved to your personal collection
Shopping list items you create
Recipes you share with others
Number of recipe analyses performed (to manage free-tier limits)
Subscription status
App version and device type (collected automatically by platform services)
Crash reports and performance data (via Firebase)
To provide the service: Analyzing recipes, generating shopping lists, enabling cook mode, and syncing your data across devices.
To manage your account: Authentication, subscription verification, and usage tracking.
To enable sharing: When you share a recipe, a copy is stored with a public link. The recipient can see your display name as the sharer.
The App uses the following third-party services:
Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, cloud storage, and cloud functions. Firebase Privacy Policy
Google Gemini API: Recipe analysis from video and article URLs. The URLs you submit are processed by Google's AI services. Google AI Privacy
OpenAI API: Text-to-speech generation for cook mode audio. Recipe text is sent to OpenAI for audio generation. OpenAI Privacy Policy
RevenueCat: Subscription and purchase management. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
Google Play / Apple App Store: Payment processing for subscriptions.
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage) with encryption at rest and in transit.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your account data and recipes are retained as long as your account is active.
Shared recipes remain accessible via their link until the original recipe is deleted.
You can delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
