Devils Lake Spectator Guidelines-updated 1/20/2021

The Devils Lake Public Schools will be making the change to the district attendance plan effective on Thursday, January 21, 2021. Below are the new attendance guidelines that will be followed until further notice for all events held at Devils Lake Public Schools and events held at Burdick Arena:

All spectators attending any DLPS events MUST:

· Wear a face mask that covers both the nose and mouth

· Social distance from other individuals outside of their family or pod whenever possible

· Practice proper hand hygiene

· Not gather before, during, or after an event

Refusal to follow these guidelines may result in removal from the event.

Devil Lake Public Schools will not be issuing vouchers for any regular season events any longer. Spectators are asked to use only door #14 at the Sports Center and the west door at Burdick Arena. Admission fees are $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for students in grades K-12. A capacity limit per event venue has been established for the new guidelines and will be strictly followed at DLPS.

· Burdick Arena-750 Spectators

· Sweetwater Elementary School-175 Spectators

· Central Middle School-380 Spectators

No concessions will be sold at this time.

Devils Lake Public Schools reserves the right to make changes to these spectator guidelines at any time.

Fargo Public Schools (Davies, North & South)

Effective February 1, 2021

Fargo Public Schools (FPS) will return to a more traditional manner of spectator attendance at student activities as the state moves to a lower risk level. The change will be effective February 1. This follows the January 27 announcement from North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum that lowers the state risk level from moderate to low.

Fargo Public Schools will begin traditional ticket sales at the door for a majority of events. Vouchers will only be issued for events at facilities where capacity concerns may arise. For those events, FPS will communicate information with both schools so that students, families, and fans may be notified. FPS has established and will strictly follow capacity limits for each event venue. Capacity limits can be found in the full press release link.

Fargo Public Schools welcome students, staff, families, and fans that will follow these guidelines and support FPS in preventing the spread of COVID-19. All spectators attending events must:

  • Wear a mask that covers both the nose and mouth

  • Social distance from other individuals outside of their family or pod whenever possible

  • Practice good hand hygiene

  • Avoid gathering before, during, or after an event

Grand Forks Public Schools (GF Central & Red River)

Re: Reduced attendance guidelines

The following serves as updated guidance regarding fan attendance at GFPS athletic contests beginning on February 1.

Fan Attendance at TICKETED Basketball, Wrestling, and Hockey Games:

Fans will no longer be issued vouchers or wristbands for attendance at events in the main gymnasiums or arenas. Attendance in these venues will be capped at the following totals:

  • GFC and RR Main Gyms: 500 fans

  • Purpur Arena: 1,200 fans

  • Eagles Arena: 400 fans

Fan Attendance at NON-TICKETED Basketball Games:

For smaller capacities gymnasiums (the small gyms at GFC and RR and the main Middle School gyms), six fans per participant will be allowed.

Fan Attendance at Swimming and Gymnastics Events:

  • Until further notice, no fans are allowed at swimming events.

  • At this time, attendance at gymnastics events is limited to two fans per participant.

All attendees must wear masks completely and correctly for the duration of the event, and social distancing must be kept between groups.

Media members wishing to cover athletic events must give prior notice to the school, must wear a mask, and must adhere to social distancing guidelines.

We will continue to monitor the guidance and directives from the NDDoH, Grand Forks Public Health, and the NDHSAA to update our guidelines as necessary.

JPII Catholic Schools (Shanley)

Following the Governor’s announcement regarding the statewide change in the COVID Risk Level to Low, JPII Catholic Schools has amended its guidelines in order to allow additional spectators to be in attendance.

Ticketed Events (Boys’ and Girls’ C, JV, Varsity Basketball)

Shanley High School will no longer be issuing vouchers for fans to purchase game tickets. Tickets can be purchased at the door in the traditional manner for Shanley’s ticketed events. According to ND Smart Restart Guidelines for Large Gatherings, the occupancy limit will be no greater than 750.
Non-ticketed Events (middle school activities and freshman basketball)

For small capacity venues (Small Gym – Gym 2), two spectators will be allowed per participant for both the home and away teams. Spectators are asked to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the event’s scheduled start time. Vouchers will not be used for events in this space.
Masks & Social Distancing

Masks are required for all fans, event workers, and media personnel during contests. Social distancing among non-household individuals is mandatory. Gatherings before and after events are prohibited. After contests, fans are asked to leave promptly. JPII Catholic Schools reserves the ability to implement more stringent limitations if deemed necessary.
Live Streaming/Radio Broadcast

When possible, home athletic contests will be livestreamed through www.ShanleyTV.com, School-Sponsored YouTube channels, or third-party broadcasters. Media members wishing to cover contests are encouraged to contact school administration in advance.
Away events

JPII Schools recognizes that other schools and other school districts will have their own respective policies for hosting events. The coaches will work with the administration to get those relevant policies out to students and families.

Wahpeton

WAHPETON PUBLIC SCHOOLS WILL MAKE CHANGES TO ACTIVITY ATTENDANCE DUE TO RISK LEVEL CHANGE

On Wednesday, January, 27th Governor Burgum made the announcement moving the State to Green/ Low Risk Level, effective Friday, Jan. 29th. This has changed the guidance for large gatherings.

Wahpeton Public Schools believes that athletics and co-curricular activities are essential and beneficial to our students. We feel we need to continue to do our part and take the necessary steps to ensure students have every opportunity to continue to participate, while allowing as many fans as safely possible to attend. With the current large gathering changes, the following will be implemented beginning Monday, Feb. 1st. These can, and may, change again based on situation in the County and State. We will continue to monitor and evaluate our attendance plan.

Attendance at ticketed events-

  • We will issue a limited amount of wristbands, up to 4, per player for home fans.

  • We will open up a number of wristbands to Wahpeton students, Alumni and Wahpeton residents for home games. (excluding Hockey due to MSHSL rules)

  • Visiting Schools will receive 120 wristbands/vouchers to distribute to athletes and coaches

  • Hockey will be issued up to 4 wristband/Vouchers per player for home

  • Visiting Hockey fans will receive 2 vouchers per player.

  • We will have limited concessions at WHS. Will accept Card or exact payments only.

ADMISSION- wristband/vouchers allow you to buy a ticket to event. You must pay by Card, activity pass, or exact change. No change will be made.

Admission is $6 for Adults and $4 for Students.

  • Non-Ticketed Events- (example, JHBB and 9 BBB) We ask that both home and visitors limit to no more than FOUR spectators per student participant..

  • We ask that spectators physically distance as much as possible during the event.

  • All individuals must properly wear masks when in the facility.

  • All attendees are asked to stay home if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID19. Please continue to practice physical distancing, hand hygiene, and use good respiratory etiquette.

  • Wahpeton events will be streamed at the following locations:

West Fargo Public Schools (WF High, WF Horace & WF Sheyenne)

WEST FARGO, ND – (January 29, 2021) – West Fargo Public Schools is updating its spectator guidelines for student activities following Governor Burgum’s January 27 announcement to lower the state risk level from moderate to low.

Beginning Monday, February 1, the capacity for events at the high school gymnasiums will be increased to 1,000 spectators. A voucher will no longer be required to purchase a ticket; spectators can purchase an event ticket at the door.

For middle school activities, two spectators per participant will be allowed at each event. This is inclusive of participants on both the home teams and visiting teams.

The Hulbert Aquatic Center will increase capacity to 500 spectators and the West Fargo Sports Arena will increase capacity to 600 spectators in the south rink and 200 spectators in the north rink.

Masks are required for all fans, and table, sideline, and media personnel during contests. Media members wishing to cover contests are encouraged to contact school administration in advance. West Fargo Public Schools reserves the ability to implement more stringent limitations if deemed necessary.

LIVE STREAM

When possible, home athletic contests will be livestreamed through WFPS YouTube channels or third-party vendors. Links to those contests will be found on Sheyenne High School's Mustang Live Stream, Horace High School's Hawk Live Stream, West Fargo High School Packer Live Stream, Cheney Middle School's Packer Live Stream, Heritage Middle School's Hawk Live Stream, and Liberty Middle School's Mustang Live Stream.

Valley City

Change to VCPS Activity Attendance Plan

Valley City Public Schools will be making a change to the district activity attendance plan effective on Friday, January 29th , 2021. This change is a result of North Dakota moving to the green risk level.

Below are the updated attendance guidelines that will be followed until further notice for all large group gatherings and events held at Valley City Public Schools: All spectators attending any large groups gatherings or events MUST:

  • Wear a face mask (when not eating or drinking)

  • Social distance from other individuals (outside of the family or pod)

  • Practice proper hand hygiene

  • Do not gather before, during, or after an event on the main floor

Valley City Public Schools will NOT be issuing wristbands prior to any regular season events and will be taking tickets in a traditional manner at the entrance of the event. We will welcome students, staff, parents, families, and fans that will follow these guidelines and support VCPS in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

  • North Gymnasium (VCHS)-150 spectators

  • Youth Sports Complex (YSC)-150 spectators

The new attendance guidelines at Valley City Public Schools will be subject to change per the guidance from the state of North Dakota and North Dakota High School Activities Association. The local health team and school board reserve the ability to change these plans as necessary.
