Biography

Early Life

Maxwell Dillon had a past marked by financial difficulties and his involvement with Francine Frye, who became his former girlfriend. Before disappearing, Max stole Francine's crack pipe, pawned some of her belongings, and left in search of more money.

At some point, Maxwell Dillon was transferred from a prison to Ravencroft Asylum. He later signed a contract to voluntarily participate in an experimental program conducted by the Life Foundation. Maxwell knew that the procedures could kill him, but agreed to participate in exchange for the promise of a reward far greater than the money he received initially if he survived.

Dillon survived the experiments. His record at the Life Foundation was classified as "SUCCESS," placing him alongside William Baker among the individuals who survived the experimental program.

After the experiments, Maxwell Dillon gained the ability to generate and manipulate enormous amounts of electricity. His transformation gave rise to the identity of Electro.

His mental state became unstable. While at Ravencroft, Electro spoke in broken and incoherent sentences and demonstrated difficulty understanding his own condition and memories. He also developed the ability to utilize electrical systems and telephone networks to escape from his pursuers.

Electro first emerged publicly in New York when he walked through the doors of Oscorp claiming that he wanted to "go back home." He attacked the receptionist and several security guards, electrocuting them before escaping through the city's power grid when the police arrived.

The incident attracted the attention of the press. The New York Bulletin began calling him Megawatt, while the Daily Bugle adopted the name Electro. The latter name eventually became his known identity.

Following the incident at Oscorp, Electro was located at Ravencroft Asylum. When Spider-Man found him, the two engaged in a confrontation. During the battle, Electro once again displayed his erratic behavior, speaking incoherently while destroying computers with his electrical powers. He managed to escape by using the telephone network.

Electro continued appearing unpredictably throughout New York. At one point, he attacked the Daily Bugle, materializing inside J. Jonah Jameson's office. He disabled the building's elevators, preventing a normal escape, and focused his attention on Betty Brant while repeatedly demanding to know where his home was.

During the confrontation, Spider-Man managed to lure Electro into the printing room and lock him inside. When Peter Parker told him that the Life Foundation was his home and that he should return there, the statement triggered an unexpected reaction. Electro suddenly stopped, as though he had recovered a lost memory, and disappeared.

Electro's connection to the Life Foundation was later confirmed through the organization's records. Maxwell Dillon was listed among the successful participants in the Foundation's experiments. His transformation into Electro was directly connected to the organization's experimental program.

The Life Foundation also maintained multiple research facilities and conducted experiments on human subjects. Maxwell Dillon remained connected to the organization's history as one of the individuals who survived its procedures.

After his involvement with the Life Foundation, Electro temporarily disappeared from the main events. He later returned to act against Spider-Man.

In 2001, Electro became part of an alliance with several of Spider-Man's other enemies. Mysterio, Sandman, Electro, Scorpion, Vulture, and an unidentified figure coordinated synchronized attacks against Spider-Man. The group's actions were intended to keep him occupied while allowing its members to increase their profits.

Electro once again operated alongside Mysterio, Sandman, Scorpion, and Vulture as part of this coordinated operation. His attacks helped keep Spider-Man distracted while the group carried out its plans.

At the most recent point in which he appears, Electro remains part of this network of Spider-Man's enemies, participating in synchronized attacks alongside Mysterio, Sandman, Scorpion, and Vulture, while the unidentified figure responsible for the operation remains behind the conspiracy.
