Biography 

Early Life

Angelica Jam was born into a noble family in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Raised in high society, she traveled the world during her youth and benefited from an education considered among the best in the world. Despite her privilege, Angelica’s life changed dramatically with the death of her grandmother, an event that deeply affected her. She withdrew into herself, becoming reclusive during adolescence and spending long periods in isolation as she slowly discovered and came to understand her latent mutant abilities.

As part of Hellions

Angelica’s path shifted when she came under the attention of Emma Frost, head of the Massachusetts Academy for Brilliant Children. Frost sought out mutants from wealthy and influential families to recruit into her mutant task force, The Hellions, a group that would train in secret missions and ultimately serve as part of the Hellfire Club’s inner circle. Angelica, with her noble background and budding powers, fit perfectly into Frost’s vision. At the academy, she honed her control over her powers while learning the weight of what it meant to be a mutant in a world that often viewed her kind with suspicion.

As an Avenger

Though she trained under Frost, Angelica’s conscience led her in another direction. She ultimately reported the existence of the Hellions to S.H.I.E.L.D., exposing Frost’s mutant squad. While S.H.I.E.L.D. could not directly eliminate the powerful Hellfire Club, Angelica’s actions crippled their ability to exploit young mutants. This act of bravery established her as a valuable ally in the eyes of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Nick Fury, who saw her as a potential Avenger.

 Angelica’s talents, integrity, and courage soon earned her a position among the Avengers. Though still adapting to her new role, she quickly proved herself worthy of standing alongside Earth’s mightiest heroes. Her integration into the Avengers was not without complexity. 

 Abigail Brand of S.W.O.R.D. revealed that Firestar’s connection to mutantkind had been intentionally kept quiet to avoid potential backlash from her ties to figures like Magneto. Nonetheless, her presence within the team helped affirm the Avengers’ stance on supporting mutants.
