Early Life

Elektra Natchios was born into Greek nobility, raised among powerful political circles connected to influential figures across society. Despite her privileged upbringing, she rejected that world, embracing a path defined by discipline, violence, and control. Over time, she became one of the most skilled assassins within the Hand, eventually rising to a position of leadership as she guided the organization through its western expansion with calculated precision.

Her life became deeply intertwined with that of Matt Murdock, a man shaped by tragedy and faith. Raised in Hell’s Kitchen by his father, Jack Murdock, Matt developed a strong sense of justice before losing his sight in a chemical accident that heightened his remaining senses. Trained by Stick, a former member of the Hand, he learned to control his abilities and became Daredevil.

Elektra influenced Matt in ways no one else could, exposing him to the darker truths of human nature. Where he sought justice through faith and restraint, she embraced violence and desire as fundamental forces. Their connection became one of conflict and attraction, shaping both of their paths as they moved in and out of each other’s lives.

As the Hand established its presence in Hell’s Kitchen, tensions escalated. The organization’s commander was assassinated under orders from the Kingpin, carried out through a political figure who had once been allied with the Hand but turned against it. The betrayal destabilized the group, and in the chaos that followed, Elektra was presumed dead.

Three days later, she was resurrected through a ritual performed by the Hand. This rebirth transformed her, granting her a power that went beyond physical skill or tactical mastery. Elektra returned changed—no longer just an assassin, but a figure elevated within the Hand as something closer to a living symbol, embodying death, rebirth, and purpose.

Her existence soon drew the attention of Loki, who had been seeking to understand and manipulate the nature of death itself. Among many subjects studied in this pursuit, Elektra stood apart, demonstrating a unique ability to endure and adapt to forces that others could not. Though she resisted full control, her significance only grew within this larger design.

Recognizing her value, Loki ultimately intervened directly. Elektra was captured and repurposed, her role shifting from independent force to a central component in a greater plan—one tied to ritual, sacrifice, and the manipulation of life and death.
