COLONEL FURY (Earth-7)

Biography 

Early Life

Born to Nick and Katherine Fury in New York City. Nick grew up in Hell’s Kitchen with two siblings, Jake and Dawn. His father served in World War II as a soldier, during which he was injured (including losing the use of one eye). His distinguished actions during the war helped establish his reputation. 

 After WWII, he transitioned into intelligence work. He joined groups like the OSS (forerunner to the CIA) and later worked for U.S. Army Intelligence. His wartime exploits (with units like the Howling Commandos) cemented his legend. This inspired his son to follow the same steps.

Part of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Fury’s wargame and military-intelligence background naturally led into the creation of SHIELD. As it grew, he became its leader, defining it as a global agency responsible for dealing with superhuman, extraterrestrial, and covert threats.

Fury isthe current leader of S.H.I.E.L.D., chosen by the organization’s founder Peggy Carter. He honors the legacy of previous leaders, plans the long-term emancipation of the agency from government oversight, and has created or intensified subdivisions (e.g. S.W.O.R.D., S.T.A.K.E.), and formalized rotating super-hero task forces such as “Mighty-Taskforce / The Avengers.”

Protecting the World

Fury has long walked the line between lawful operations and covert actions. He uses intelligence gathering, negotiation, deception, sometimes crossing ethical boundaries, in order to defend global security. 

 He works closely with the heroic community — super-teams, individuals, cosmic entities — building alliances but maintaining SHIELD’s autonomy.
