Early Life

Maximus was born into the House of Boltagon, alongside his brother Blackagar. Unlike the rest of his lineage, however, he was born without the Inhuman gene—a truth that should have condemned him to exile among the Alpha Primitives. Instead, his family concealed this secret, preserving their honor by lying to both the Genetic Council and Maximus himself.

When he underwent Terrigenesis, nothing happened. While others transformed, Maximus remained physically unchanged. His parents reassured him, claiming his gift was internal—his mind, destined to become the greatest in Inhuman history.

Believing this, Maximus embraced his role. He understood early on that he would never rule through strength or tradition, as he could not compete in the Times of Confrontation. Instead, he chose a different path: influence. He created the position of High Councilor, placing himself at the center of Attilan’s political structure, ruling from the shadows while his brother would take the throne.

However, beneath this facade of loyalty, Maximus harbored his own vision. As rebellion grew within Attilan, he secretly orchestrated a pivotal event—an attack on the high citadel. During the chaos, he kidnapped his newborn cousin, Crystal, whose existence was tied to the prophecy of the Midnight Messiah. He abandoned her in an Alpha Primitive colony, intending for both the child and the prophecy to be erased from history.

To cover his actions, Maximus blamed the extremist group known as the Crimson Cadre, later hunting them down and branding them as traitors. This move solidified his image as a loyal defender of Attilan, while hiding the truth of his manipulation.
