In: Inhumans

karnak (earth-7)

Karnak, also known as Karnak Mander-Azur, is a philosopher-warrior of the Inhumans who rejected the traditional Terrigenesis process. Instead of gaining powers through mutation, he trained his mind and body to perceive the fundamental flaws in all things, making him one of Attilan’s most dangerous and insightful strategists.

biography

Early Life

Karnak was born into the House of Mander-Azur, a lineage known for opposing the rigid and oligarchic structures that governed Inhuman society. Unlike many other houses, the Mander-Azur often resisted participating in the “Times of Confrontation,” rejecting the violent struggle for power that defined Attilan’s political system.

At the age of ten, when most Inhumans undergo Terrigenesis to unlock their genetic potential, Karnak chose a different path. He refused exposure to the Terrigen Mist and instead devoted himself to a spiritual and intellectual life. He entered the Tower of Wisdom, becoming a celibate hermit and a devoted servant of Inhuman philosophy as part of the Genetic Council.

Through discipline and study, Karnak developed a unique ability—not born of mutation, but of mastery. He learned to perceive the inherent weaknesses in anything around him, whether physical structures, opponents, or even complex systems. This insight made him invaluable, and within a few years, he rose through the ranks of the Genetic Council.

His intellect and perception eventually drew the attention of Blackagar Boltagon, who invited Karnak to take a leadership role within the council. From there, Karnak dedicated his life to analyzing the vulnerabilities within the Inhuman Empire and its enemies, knowledge that would prove essential in the ongoing conflict between Attilan and the Kree Empire.

This larger conflict traces back to the ancient experiments of the Kree, particularly the work of a group known as the Seven Sages. Fascinated by the potential of early humans, they conducted genetic experiments on Earth’s population. However, when their actions were discovered by the Accusers, they were condemned and their work seemingly erased.

Unbeknownst to them, a hidden outpost on Earth’s Moon remained intact, preserving hundreds of altered beings. These survivors would eventually evolve into the Inhuman race, the very civilization Karnak now serves and seeks to protect.

In the present, Karnak stands as one of Attilan’s most trusted minds and advisors. Though he lacks traditional superhuman abilities, his perception of flaws makes him a formidable figure in both combat and strategy.

He continues to serve under Black Bolt, acting as both a philosopher and tactician in a time of tension and war. His role is not merely to fight, but to understand

Detached, disciplined, and deeply introspective, Karnak walks a path few can follow. While others rely on power granted by Terrigenesis, he remains proof that true strength can come from clarity, control, and the relentless pursuit of truth.
