Iron Fist, born as Danny Rand, is the last survivor of a doomed expedition who was raised in the mystical city of K'un-Lun. Trained among warriors and chosen by destiny, he became the living weapon of the dragon Shou-Lao, carrying both ancient power and a personal mission rooted in betrayal, loss, and justice.

Early Life

Danny Rand’s story begins before his birth, with his father, Wendell Rand, a man consumed by resentment toward his own father, Nu-An, who had abandoned the mystical realm of K’un-Lun to live as a mortal. Seeking to reclaim that lost legacy, Wendell built the Rand Corporation and financed expeditions to Tibet in search of the hidden city. Guided by the occultist Harold Meachum, he came to believe that only a spiritual journey could restore his origins.

Determined, Wendell embarked on a final expedition with his wife, Heather Duncan, and their infant son, Danny. The journey ended in tragedy when Meachum betrayed Wendell, casting him into an abyss and seizing control of the company. Alone in the frozen wilderness, Heather struggled to survive with her child, eventually aided by mysterious monks untouched by the cold. Exhausted and at peace knowing Danny was safe, she succumbed to death.

Danny was taken to K’un-Lun and raised among its people, fully aware of his mortal origins. He devoted his life to sacred training, preparing for the tournament that would determine the next Iron Fist. K’un-Lun itself existed beyond time and space, more a sensation than a physical place, leaving only faint memories once departed.

When the previous Iron Fist, Orson Randall, returned at the end of his life, a new tournament was called. Warriors gathered, knowing Danny was destined to win. Still, he fought with discipline and honor, never underestimating his opponents. In the end, the immortal dragon Shou-Lao descended and merged with him, granting him the power and legacy of the Immortal Iron Fist.
