Early Life

Long ago, a discovery on Earth set vast cosmic forces into motion: an embryo of perfect genetic compatibility, sought after by a religious order known as the Priests of Pama. This pursuit tied into a greater design shaped by the Cotati, an incorporeal, sentient species capable of manifesting through plant life. Originally from Hala and saved from extinction by Kree scientists, the Cotati eventually inspired devotion among some of their rescuers, who abandoned their former lives to become their faithful followers—the Priests of Pama.

These followers grew into a widespread religious movement, guided by visions from the Cotati that foretold the eventual extinction of life. In response, they sought salvation in the form of a messianic figure: the Celestial Madonna, a reincarnation of a primordial goddess of life. This being would embody a perfect harmony of all existence—animal, plant, and mineral—connected through a single universal thread.

On Titan, beneath its surface and within ancient ruins, this prophecy came to fruition. Mantis was born and raised in secrecy, worshipped for her divine nature and trained by the Cotati to inherit the mantle of creation. Gifted with powerful clairvoyance, she could perceive the vast web of possibilities, futures, and choices that define existence itself.
