KILLER CROC (Earth-7)

Biography 

Early Life

Waylon Jones was born with a serious skin condition that altered his physiology, giving him hardened, armor-like skin, a dislocated jaw, and a monstrous appearance. His parents rejected him as a baby, and he grew up in an orphanage, where his peers cruelly nicknamed him “Croc.”

Able Crown Youth Center

At the orphanage, Waylon came under the notice of Able Crown, director of the Able Crown Youth Center, which was secretly a front for Gotham’s mafia-linked network, The Burnley Town Massive. Unlike with other children, Able Crown adopted Waylon as his legitimate son and heir, grooming him to one day succeed him in his criminal empire.

In Blackgate

Twenty years later, Waylon was incarcerated in Blackgate Prison, falsely accused of crimes by his half-brother, Charles Crown, who sought to control the family empire after their father’s death. Waylon’s years in Blackgate were marked by inhuman treatment and abuse, leaving him hardened and even more violent.

As Killer Croc

When he was finally released, Waylon returned to Gotham, now fully embracing the monstrous identity forced upon him. He exacted revenge on Charles, who became his first victim, killed brutally by Waylon’s claws. From that moment, Waylon took the name “Killer Croc.”

With his brother gone, Waylon reclaimed control of The Burnley Town Massive, ruling with fear and brutality. He became notorious for his collection of slain policemen’s badges, trophies of his vengeance against Gotham’s law enforcement, whom he blamed for his torment in prison. His victims were often dismembered, their remains dumped in the Gotham River, never to be found again.
