If you want high-quality replacement ear tips that ensure a secure, custom fit for your existing in-ear headphones during calls, choose Earphones Plus 6; if you need active noise reduction and hearing protection for sleep or travel, choose Avoxins Ear Plugs. These two products serve entirely different purposes, and confusing them is a common mistake. One is an accessory designed to improve the seal of your current audio gear, while the other is a standalone solution for blocking out the world. Understanding this fundamental difference is the only way to make the right choice without wasting money on a product that doesn't solve your specific problem.
• Earphones Plus 6: The biggest strength is its specialized compatibility with stems measuring 4mm to 5.5mm, offering an uncompromising fit for users who have lost their original tips. The trade-off is that it does not provide any noise cancellation on its own and requires compatible hardware to function. This pick is for people who already own quality earbuds but need better comfort or retention.
• Avoxins Ear Plugs: The biggest strength is its powerful 33-45 dB noise reduction capability, engineered to silence snoring, traffic, and machinery without batteries. The trade-off is that it is a disposable-style wear item meant for isolation rather than listening to music or taking calls through a device. This pick is for anyone seeking immediate quiet for sleeping, studying, or protecting their hearing in loud environments.
The Earphones Plus 6 product line is not a set of headphones you plug into a phone. Instead, it is a precision accessory designed to replace worn-out or ill-fitting tips on your existing in-ear earbuds. If you have ever struggled with your headphones slipping out while jogging or felt that your favorite pair of buds didn't block enough bass because the seal was broken, this product addresses those exact issues. This size suggests they are built for users with larger ear canals who often find standard-sized tips too small or loose.
The most critical factor here is the connector stem size. The manufacturer explicitly states these are ONLY compatible with stems measuring between 4mm and 5.5mm (or 5/32" to 7/32"). This is a hard technical constraint. If your current earbuds use a different connection mechanism, these tips will simply not fit. The brand has been providing these OEM-compatible cushions since 2007, indicating a long history of focusing on this specific niche of portable electronics accessories. They do not claim to be universal; they claim to be a perfect match for a specific range of connectors.
For someone who relies on their earphones for calls, especially while moving around, the "uncompromising fit" mentioned in the description is vital. A poor seal means sound leaks out, and microphone pickup suffers. By swapping to these large, soft silicone tips, you create a tighter acoustic seal. This improves the clarity of your voice on calls and enhances the passive noise isolation of the earbud itself. The package includes six pairs of tips, which is a significant value for a replacement part. You get multiple options to find the one that feels right, and the black color offers a sleek, neutral look that blends with almost any device.
However, there is a clear group of people who should skip this product entirely. If you are looking for a complete new set of headphones to listen to music or take calls, this is not it. It is purely an add-on component. Furthermore, if your earbuds have stems smaller than 4mm or larger than 5.5mm, these will not work regardless of how much you want them to fit. You must measure your current stem before buying. Additionally, if you need active noise cancellation features like electronic filtering, these passive silicone tips cannot provide that technology. They rely solely on physical density and shape to block sound.

In stark contrast, the Avoxins Ear Plugs are a self-contained solution for anyone needing to shut out noise. These are not accessories for another device; they are the primary tool for hearing protection and silence. The core selling point is the engineered acoustic isolation that reduces disruptive noise by 33 to 45 decibels. This is a substantial drop in volume. Whether you are dealing with the roar of an airplane engine, the rhythmic grinding of construction equipment, or the annoying buzz of a roommate's snoring, these plugs are designed to soften those sounds significantly. This makes them ideal as sleep earplugs for light sleepers or as focus tools for students in noisy libraries.
Comfort is a major design priority for the Avoxins model. The description highlights the use of ultra-soft premium silicone that molds securely to the ear canal. The ergonomic twist-lock design is specifically mentioned as a feature that eases pressure. This is crucial for side sleepers, who often find traditional foam plugs uncomfortable when lying on their ears. The material is non-yellowing and durable, meaning you can reuse them repeatedly. Unlike disposable foam plugs that lose their shape after a few days, these are washable and built for long-term use. The package includes nine tips in total across four sizes (XS, S, M, L) plus a special double-layer pair. This variety ensures that even users with very small or uniquely shaped canals can find a comfortable seal.
The frequency-filtering technology is another standout feature. Many cheap earplugs block everything equally, making you miss important alarms or voices. Avoxins claims to block harmful low-frequency noise while keeping mid-to-high frequencies audible. This balanced approach supports hearing wellness by reducing strain while ensuring you don't become completely deaf to your surroundings. For example, you can still hear a smoke alarm or a baby crying while sleeping, but the background hum of a fan or street traffic is dampened. The inclusion of a compact carrying case adds to the portability, allowing you to toss them in a pocket for a commute or a flight.
There are limitations to consider for certain users. Since these are passive plugs, they do not allow you to listen to music, podcasts, or phone calls through them. If your goal is to hear audio content while traveling, these will isolate you from the world rather than connect you to it. They are strictly for protection and silence. Also, while they are reusable, they require manual cleaning to maintain hygiene, unlike electronic headphones that might have auto-cleaning modes or sealed designs. If you are looking for a high-tech solution with battery life or Bluetooth connectivity, this product is not designed for that purpose. It is a simple, effective mechanical barrier against noise.
To make the final decision easier, let's map your specific needs directly to the product that fits best based on the technical specifications provided.

After analyzing the specs and intended use cases, I would buy the Avoxins Ear Plugs if my primary goal was to get a good night's sleep or protect my hearing in a loud environment. The ability to reduce noise by up to 45 dB and the variety of included tips make it a versatile tool for daily life. However, if I already owned a pair of earphones that I loved but whose tips were worn out, I would choose the Earphones Plus 6 immediately. It solves a very specific, frustrating problem with a precise engineering solution. For calls specifically, the Avoxins plugs offer the peace needed to focus, while the Earphones Plus tips ensure your current device performs at its peak. Ultimately, the Avoxins product offers more independent utility for general noise control, whereas the Earphones Plus product is a targeted repair for your existing audio setup.
No, these are replacement ear tips only. They must be attached to compatible earbuds with stems between 4mm and 5.5mm to function. They do not produce sound on their own.
They are not designed to transmit audio for gaming calls. While they can help you focus by blocking background noise, they do not have a microphone or speaker to facilitate two-way communication.
Yes, the data indicates they use advanced frequency-filtering technology to block harmful low-frequency noise while keeping important sounds audible, which helps reduce ear strain during extended use.
You must measure the connector stem of your current earbuds. If the diameter falls between 4mm and 5.5mm (5/32" to 7/32"), they are compatible. Otherwise, they will not attach properly.
