Roger C. Perry

CW5 Roger C. Perry (ARNG, Ret.) was born in Wilmington, DE, on January 12, 1949. He joined the Army in June 1966 and served in Vietnam with distinction in I Corps as a Radio Intercept Operator for the Army Security Agency from April 1967 to 1968. Upon returning to the U.S. in 1968, he separated from active duty and entered the Individual Ready Reserve. In April 1973, he enlisted for a two-year tour with the Delaware Army National Guard (ARNG), and after a brief break in service, he rejoined his former unit in September 1976. Once fully reacquainted, he excelled in various key NCO leadership positions until early 1987. With over 20 years of superior enlisted service culminating as a Sergeant First Class, he was appointed Warrant Officer One in the ARNG on 1 April 1987.

He held several key command, staff, and operational assignments during his career to include Communication Security (COMSEC) Technician and Instructor, 193rd Regional Training Institute (RTI); Property Book Technician, 193rd RTI; Tactical Automated Network Technician, 280th Signal Battalion; 198th COMSEC Technician, 280th Signal Battalion; Property Book Technician, 198th Signal Battalion; and Allied Trades Technician, 945th Maintenance Company. He was appointed as the CCWO of the Delaware ARNG and at the time of his CCWO appointment, he was serving at the State Area Command Headquarters as the Quartermaster Policy Action Officer. He retired from the ARNG on September 30, 2010, while serving in his capstone assignment as Special Assistant to the Command Chief Warrant Officer (CCWO), ARNG December 1, 2003.

CW5 Perry was honored as a distinguished member of the Warrant Officer community, particularly recognized for his contributions as an inductee into the Eagle Rising Society at the U.S. Army Warrant Officer Career College in 2011 and passed away 4 June 2018.
