If you want a high-output, DOT-approved LED headlight with an integrated halo ring for Harley-Davidson touring motorcycles, choose Eagle Lights 8700BG3HP-897; if you need a complete OE-spec projector replacement set for a 2014-2019 Cadillac CTS, choose AKKON. These two products serve entirely different vehicle classes and use cases, yet they share a common goal of improving visibility and safety on the road. When evaluating options for fleet vehicles or individual upgrades, the distinction is not just about brand loyalty but about matching the specific optical design to the chassis it must illuminate. The Eagle Lights unit is engineered for the unique aesthetic and lighting requirements of heavy touring bikes, while the AKKON assembly focuses on restoring factory-standard performance for a specific sedan platform.
• Eagle Lights 8700BG3HP-897: Offers extreme brightness with 3315 lumens and a distinctive white halo ring for increased visibility, but requires a specific single-bulb adapter harness for installation on 2014+ Harley models.
• AKKON: Provides a direct-fit, pair-of-assemblies solution with projector technology and LED DRL bars for Cadillac CTS owners, though it is strictly limited to Halogen-type base models and does not include a halo effect.
• The Pick: Choose the Eagle Lights kit for riders needing maximum illumination and style on touring bikes; choose the AKKON set for drivers requiring a seamless, DOT-compliant restoration of their sedan's front end.
This product is designed specifically for the owner of a 2014 or newer Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycle who refuses to compromise on visibility. The core appeal here is the sheer output of the light. With a lumen rating of 3315, this kit is positioned as one of the brightest state-of-the-art options available for this application. In real-world terms, that number translates to a beam that cuts through darkness more aggressively than standard halogen bulbs, allowing for better reaction times on unlit highways or rural backroads. The wide-angle projection lenses are not just about raw power; they are engineered to cast light to the sides of the road where hazards often hide, rather than just straight ahead in a narrow cone.
The visual identity of the bike also plays a massive role for this buyer. The integrated LED halo ring serves a dual purpose: it adds ambient light to the road surface and creates a distinct pattern that makes the motorcycle instantly recognizable to other drivers. For fleet managers overseeing motorcycle units or riders who frequently navigate distracted traffic, this "hard-to-miss" profile is a genuine safety feature. The white color of the housing and the clarity of the lens ensure that the light output remains pure and consistent, avoiding the yellowish tint often associated with aging halogen systems.

However, this unit is not for everyone. It is explicitly tailored for Harley-Davidson Touring models from 2014 onward, with a specific exclusion for Street Glide and Road King models. Furthermore, if your motorcycle already came equipped with an LED headlight from the factory, this kit includes a Single Bulb Adapter Harness (model 897) which is mandatory for proper function. If you do not own a compatible Harley, or if you are looking for a full headlight assembly replacement rather than a bulb upgrade, this product will not fit your needs. It is a precision tool for a specific type of rider who values extreme performance and wants a lifetime warranty backing their investment.
The AKKON headlight is built for the driver of a 2014-2019 Cadillac CTS Base model who needs to replace a damaged or failing OEM unit without sacrificing factory aesthetics. Unlike the Eagle Lights option which focuses on aftermarket performance enhancement, the AKKON assembly prioritizes exact fitment and OE-designed specifications. This means the housing is molded to match the original contours of the vehicle, ensuring that the form and function align perfectly with the car's body lines. For fleet operators maintaining a standard fleet of these sedans, consistency in appearance is often just as important as functionality, and this unit delivers that directly.
Visibility is addressed through projector technology and an LED bar for Daytime Running Lights (DRL). The projector lens focuses the beam to reduce glare for oncoming traffic while providing a sharp cutoff line, which is crucial for night driving safety. The inclusion of the LED bar ensures that the vehicle meets modern visibility standards during daylight hours without the warm-up time or fragility of older incandescent bulbs. The solid matte black housing paired with a clear lens maintains the aggressive, premium look expected from a Cadillac, blending seamlessly with the rest of the vehicle's exterior design.
This product is strictly for those with the Halogen Type Headlight Models of the specified years. It is not a universal fit for all trims or model years outside the 2014-2019 range, nor is it designed for non-Cadillac vehicles. The package comes as a pair, covering both the driver and passenger sides, which simplifies the installation process by ensuring symmetry. If you have a vehicle with a different headlight configuration or require a full retrofit into a different era of car, this part will not work. It is a straightforward replacement solution for those who want to restore their vehicle to its original, safe operating condition with minimal hassle.
• Best for Maximum Night Illumination → Eagle Lights 8700BG3HP-897: The 3315 lumen output provides significantly more light than standard halogen replacements, ideal for dark, winding roads.
• Best for Direct Fit Restoration → AKKON: Designed to match OE specifications exactly, ensuring the new headlights sit flush and align correctly with the Cadillac's body panels.
• Best for Visibility Through Halo Design → Eagle Lights 8700BG3HP-897: The white halo ring acts as a constant beacon, making the motorcycle highly visible to other drivers in traffic.
• Best for Projector Beam Control → AKKON: The projector lens offers precise beam shaping and reduced glare, essential for highway driving in a sedan.
• Best for Fleet Standardization → AKKON: Providing a left and right pair ensures uniformity across a fleet of identical sedans, maintaining a professional appearance.
• Best for Lifetime Warranty Confidence → Eagle Lights 8700BG3HP-897: Backed by a manufacturer lifetime warranty, offering long-term peace of mind for high-mileage riders.
• Best for Quick Installation → Both: Eagle Lights includes the necessary adapter harness for plug-and-play setup, while AKKON is designed for a straightforward, direct-fit swap.
• Best for Specific Vehicle Compatibility → Neither fits all: Eagle Lights is exclusive to Harley-Davidson Touring (excluding Street Glide/Road King), while AKKON is exclusive to 2014-2019 Cadillac CTS Halogen models.
When I evaluate these two products for their intended markets, the choice becomes clear based on the vehicle type and the specific lighting challenge being addressed. For fleet vehicles that rely on motorcycles for last-mile delivery or patrol duties, the Eagle Lights 8700BG3HP-897 is the superior choice due to its exceptional lumen output and the added safety of the halo ring, which keeps riders visible in low-light conditions. However, for a fleet of sedans requiring a reliable, cost-effective restoration that maintains factory specs, the AKKON assembly is the logical pick because it guarantees a perfect fit and OE-compliant beam patterns. I would personally buy the Eagle Lights kit for my own touring bike because the difference between standard visibility and "night-melting" light is a safety game-changer, whereas the AKKON is simply a necessary repair part for the Cadillac.
The AKKON package includes a pair of assemblies, covering both the Left Side (Driver Side) and Right Side (Passenger Side) to ensure the vehicle is fully equipped.
Eagle Lights offers a Lifetime Manufacturer Warranty on their LED products, covering potential issues with no-hassle returns or replacements.
No, the AKKON product is designed specifically for Halogen Type Headlight Models of the 2014-2019 Cadillac CTS Base.
