Everything that you need to know to get to our city
FLIGHTS
We recommend either searching for direct flights to:
Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) - (which is the best option)
Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI) - located near Warsaw
or search flights to other airports:
Łódź Reymont Airport (LCJ),
KATOWICE PYRZOWICE (KTW),
POZNAŃ ŁAWICA (POZ),
KRAKÓW BALICE (KRK) ,
WROCLAW (WRO).
In case of reaching other airports please let us know and we will help you to arrange your travel.
HOW TO GET FROM WARSAW CHOPIN AIRPORT/WARSAW MODLIN AIRPORT TO ŁÓDŹ CITY CENTRE
From Warsaw Chopin Airport or Warsaw Modlin Airport you can continue your journey by buses or public trains, that run on an hourly basis.
BY TRAIN
The best option to get to Łódź city center from Warsaw Chopin Airport is to take a public train that runs almost every hour from Warsaw Central Railway Station either Warsaw East Railway Station. Warsaw Chopin Airport is connected by fast and convenient trains. The train ride takes about 15 minutes. There are two companies that offer a service: SKM (recommended) and KM (Masovian Railways). Trains leave every 15 minutes, for further information regarding time table please visit the web pages:
https://www.pkp.pl/en/
https://www.mazowieckie.com.pl/en
Once you reach Warsaw Central Railway Station you need to purchase a train ticket to Łódź Kaliska Station or Łódź Fabryczna Station (the best option). You can do it either online or at the station. One-way ticket costs about 9-11 EUR depending on the class (1st or 2nd) and type of train. Please visit a web page to check the train table.
The travel takes about 1,5 hours depending on the train type (direct or with changes, ordinary or fast train). In order to buy a ticket it is advisable to turn up at the departure station for several minutes before the train's departure since lines to ticket offices are not rare and getting a ticket on board is more expensive and inconvenient. Also it is possible to buy tickets on-line. Since thousands of Lodz dwellers commute to the Warsaw and another thousands do business there, the trains going from Warsaw are usually overloaded in the afternoon and evening while the ones going to Warsaw are rather crowded in the morning. No seat reservation is available for these connections!
BY BUS
Check connection via FLIXBUS from Warsaw Airport either Warsaw East railway station to Łódź Fabryczna:
TAXI
Once you reach Łódź Kaliska Station, Łódź Fabryczna Station or Łódź Widzew please take a taxi. U can easily find the taxi stops when you get out of the train. In case there were none I would recommend choosing the company Green Cab +48 42 666 44 44, +48 42 233 63 33, 19123, (+48 519 000 400). Depending on the hour your travel should take about 10 -20 minutes to reach one of the recommended hotels. The price should not be higher than 20-40 PLN (10 -15 EUR).
PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN LODZ
Also, you can travel by public transport. In case you would like to choose this option you can find trains' and buses' schedules in the link below. Please remember that you have to buy a ticket. In most of the public transport, you can find ticket machines where you can buy a ticket. You can pay with cash or by credit card, also sometimes there is a ticket machine close to the stop. Also, you can buy the tickets at the train station. You need to buy a normal ticket in the ticket machine, that are available on the trams and buses, but also you can find some near the stops. The ticket prices are available on the website:
http://mpk.lodz.pl/showarticleslist.action?category=1077&Tickets+and+fares
Please remember you need to validate a ticket inside a bus/tram

HOTELS:
There are several hotels located in Łódź city center that offer single and double rooms for a reasonable price of up to 60 EUR per night. Please remember that the actual euro price depends on the EUR rate, which changes daily. Every hotel accepts payment in both currencies: PLN and EUR. You might make a reservation either directly via the hotel reservation system or by common booking portals. In some cases, a credit card number might be requested.
NOVOTEL, IBIS or BOUTIQUE are the ones I would recommend the most, taking into consideration hotel price and location. To reach the WSBINOZ, where the meeting will or might be held, you can take a bus, tram, taxi or simply walk (about 15 -20 minutes, 1,7 km).
Another hotel that I would recommend is HOLIDAY INN. The hotel is located close to the meeting place and offers single and double rooms but the price sometimes may be higher than 60 EUR.
You can also search for other options on booking com.
Meals and breakfasts
In most of the hotels, breakfast is included in the price, but please check it while doing your reservation.
WSBINOZ buildings are located at Piotrkowska street 278. Once you pass the Cathedral on your right, please pay attention that you have to turn next street left (MILIONOWA STREET the RED circle on the map). The WSBINOZ is just around the corner – please turn left the first gate. The building where the meeting will be held in is in front of you. The room number will be confirmed. We will pay attention to put the information on the front door.

The currency in Poland is the Polish zloty 1 euro ≈ 4,30 PLN
(this is the indicative rate, as it is changing every day/month). You can exchange your currency at the airport at the Exchange points, also in Lodz you can find some of the exchange points or you can pay directly with your card or credit card in the shops.
You might need cash for local buses or taxis, however in most of these places you can pay by card.
