Music is actually something that came into my life recently. It wasn't something I really grew up with and I only listened to a few artists when I was a kid. It certainly wasn't something I ever imagined I would be doing. I know a lot of singers grew up with it and because of that they were inspired to make music, but life is different for everyone, and we don't always know what we want to do when we're young. It took some time for me to develop a relationship with music and get to where I am now. I started out with a classical background from playing viola in an orchestra. During my time in the orchestra, I would experiment with music composition and that was my first real start in making music. However, I wouldn't go beyond classical orchestral pieces and didn't experiment with other genres. Eventually, I rediscovered pop music during COVID-19 where I would watch performances and concerts of all these different pop artists. Seeing the music connect so many different people and build this community really inspired me to start creating music and explore so many other genres of music. I love how it also acts as a medium for me to express the many things we often feel while experiencing life.
I could probably write a whole book series on my recently released song "ineffable." That song is the first-ever song I've put out and it means so so much to me. I stumbled upon the word one day while doing vocabulary practice for my AP literature class. I thought that not only was the word "ineffable" beautiful, but also the meaning which is "incapable of being expressed in words." I feel like a lot of things in life are indescribable and we often face a lot of uncertainty in our daily lives. Sometimes it's hard to express how we feel in words too. For example, this whole music thing I got going on is ineffable. Who would've known that I would have one of the most supportive and amazing communities in the world? Melodies never cease to amaze me, seriously.
When things get tough, I often try to focus on the things that I have and reflect on where I was awhile back. I had probably less than a quarter of the community I have now a year ago. In addition, even though I'm still really small and I don't have a large following, a lot of my melodies are like my best friends and we support each other no matter what. Thus, I would say my melodies are what keep myself inspired.
Lana del Rey is a huge influence on my musical style. I feel like any of her songs could be in a movie honestly. My style is cinematic pop which involves combining orchestral sounds with pop production to produce a dramatic and cinematic sound. I feel like the song "Young and Beautiful" is a great example of what I'm trying to aim for. I just love how she creates these worlds with her music and that's kind of what I wanna do with my music.
I hope to help my listeners live cinematically while listening to my music since life is a movie waiting to be lived after all. I try to make my music dramatic and cinematic so that my listeners can listen to it wherever they are and feel like they're in a film. Everyone is the main character in their own lives whether we think it or not. We should learn to appreciate the small things in life and enjoy the little moments too since those are what make life big.
Yes!! Now that ineffable is out I am free to move on to more exciting things. I learned a lot from that process and hopefully can put out more songs in a shorter amount of time. I have this whole concept for the next few singles, but you guys will have to wait and see what it is. The next single is actually a song that I already have posted on my socials. Maybe some of you may know what it might be already, but I'm hoping to put it out in the coming months!
