I was always a creative kid. My mom was super supportive—whether it was writing, singing, or acting, she always encouraged me to explore. I used to write love poems when I was little, and one day I got this strawberry-shaped guitar. I started singing the poems I’d written, and that’s how I fell in love with songwriting. Since then, I’ve become a singer-songwriter, and everything I’ve released so far has been mixed and produced by me.
One of my favorite songs I’ve released is i Cry at Parties. I actually wrote it while third-wheeling my sister and this guy. Every lyric—from the verses to the chorus—is based on real things that happened. At the time, I was going through a really hard period in my life, but the song ended up becoming something positive. It’s kind of an anthem for people who don’t enjoy parties or drinking—it became a hug for that version of myself, and for anyone who’s felt the same way.
I love watching live performances of singers from back in the day—especially Amy Winehouse. Seeing her on stage and watching her pour so much into her music really inspires me. I also like going to small live shows and discovering new artists. There’s something magical about watching people do what they love—it always reminds me why I started.
Amy Winehouse is a huge influence. Her songwriting was so raw and honest—I really admire that. Sasha Sloan is another artist who inspires me a lot. She writes in such a vulnerable and relatable way, and it pushes me to be more open in my own music.
Right now, the music I’m releasing has a calm, peaceful, happy tone. My last EP was a Halloween project, so that had a totally different, kind of spooky vibe. But with this new music, I really just want people to feel something—whether it’s comfort, connection, or joy. If someone listens to a song and feels less alone or more understood, then I’ve done my job.
Yes! I’m releasing an album called Letters to Pluto. I’m putting out one song a month from the project—the first one, Stay With ME, is already out. I was super anxious to release it, but the response has been so kind and encouraging. I’m just really excited for what’s coming next!
