Summary
My research focuses on developing quantified methods for the description and explanation of language assuming the Usage-Based Model and the theory of Cognitive Linguistics.
Language is an inherently dynamic and varied system that emerges from use. Its structure is assumed to be holistic (non-modular) and conceptually (functionally) motivated.
How to account for language scientifically, making those assumptions, is the general aim of all my research.
More specifically, I focus on lexical and constructional semantics but also work on emotions, appraisal, and multimodal data. I typically focus on Germanic and Slavic languages.
