Halo, welcome to my personal website!
I am Dyah Pritadrajati—though most people call me Prita (pronounced Pree-tah). I have recently completed my PhD in Economics at the Arndt–Corden Department of Economics at the Australian National University. I am an applied microeconomist working in labour and family economics, with a particular focus on gender, education, and social policy. I also work as a consultant with the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank on research and policy projects across the Asia-Pacific region.
My research examines how households respond to social policy and economic change, particularly in contexts where care responsibilities, labour market informality, and family structures intersect. My Job Market Paper studies how mothers’ labour supply and household behaviour adjust when childcare relief is only partial. A short overview of the paper was featured on the Development Impact blog.
I was a Fox International Fellow at Yale University (2024–25) and a Pacific Trade and Development (PAFTAD) Fellow. My research has been published in journals including Labour Economics, Journal of Development Studies, and Economic Analysis and Policy.
I previously completed an MPhil in Economics at the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Economics for Development at the University of Oxford, and received my undergraduate degree in Economics from Universitas Gadjah Mada (Indonesia).
I was born in Wonosobo and grew up between Surabaya and Yogyakarta. During high school, I joined the AFS intercultural exchange programme, an experience that first sparked my interest in global perspectives and public policy. During my undergraduate studies, I became increasingly interested in development economics through community-based fieldwork (KKN) in West Papua. I have since lived, studied, or worked across several countries, experiences that continue to shape how I think about inequality, institutions, and economic development.
Outside of research, I enjoy being active and outdoors—I am a certified diver and an avid cyclist.
