Greetings! My name is D. Xavier (Zave) Lesley and I am a graduate student in the Department of Astronomy at The Ohio State University, as of August 2023. All areas of astronomy (and science) interest me, but my research spans all things stars. My past work is largely comprised of spectroscopic analysis to study the motion of objects. This includes surveys of K-dwarf stars in the Solar Neighborhood and ionized gas in the ISM. I have also used observations made with speckle interferometry to determine the orbits of binary systems. In my current research prospects, I study the youth and kinematics of stars in open clusters and have a particular interest in multiplicity. Finally, I enjoy baking 🥮, gaming 🎮, and nature exploration 🏞️ in my free time.
