My budgeting accomplishments so far:

2015: started Dave Ramsey's baby steps

2016: paid off over $16,000 in credit card debt

2017: paid off $14,000 left on $30,000 car loan

2018: paid an extra $10,000 of my mortgage

2019: refinanced my home for $70,000 in Feb, paid off $25,000 of it by Dec.

2020: created a sabbatical sinking fund to cover tuition & fixed expenses for 2021-2022

2021: did an interest-rate buydown that lowered my monthly mortage payment to just $285

2022: paid an extra $5K towards principal on my mortgage.
