I love theMid-Autumn Festival, and not just because of the redundant days out. . I ’m not going to explain the whole story, but principally there’s a lady with her bunny who are immortal and live on the moon. The bunny does n’t really have important significance, but when the lady started flying up to the moon, she just decided to snare her bunny and bring her along so that’s that( there are multiple performances of the story but that bone ’s my favourite)Another reason why I love theMid-Autumn Festival – durian mooncake! I love mooncakes – both traditional and snowskin bones . When I was little, we made mooncakes at academy, but all the doughs were made and you just had to mould the shapes. Ah, good times.
I have n’t yet made traditional durian mooncake from scrape, because supposedly you need alkaline water and I ’m not sure where to get that? If anyone knows – please let me know!
But anyway, I decided to make snowskin mooncakes rather! Snowskin mooncakes look veritably analogous to mooncakes, except their outside subcaste is veritably different. Also, traditional mooncakes frequently have a interspersed egg thralldom in the centre, while snowskin mooncakes do n’t. 100g cooked tenacious rice flour( Gao Fen)120g powdered sugar25g vegetable shortening80 ml cold waterpaddings of choice(e.g. lotus seed, black sesame, red bean)Food colouring( or natural food maquillages similar as beetroot, spirulina, chlorella, açai)System
In a mixing coliseum, sift together the rice flour and powdered sugarRub the shortening into the admixture until the admixture resembles coarse motesStill, combine a little with the cold water, If using food colouring/ colouredpowders.However, also separate your dough into still numerous colours you want and, to each dough, If you want different colouredmooncakes.Weigh out about 25g of dough and about 50g of your stuffing( there should be a 12 rate for the dough and stuffing)Coming way involve making the factual mooncake, and it’s easier to use filmland than to explain in words.
