Introduction
Operatech provides the Duplicate Photo Video Cleaner application. This Privacy Policy explains how the application accesses and processes information when users scan, review and delete duplicate or similar photos and videos.
Photos and videos
The application accesses photos and videos only after the user grants Android media permission.
Photos, videos, thumbnails, media fingerprints, scan results and deletion selections are processed locally on the user’s device. Operatech does not upload these files to its servers, sell them or share their contents with third parties.
The application does not provide an Operatech cloud account or cloud media-storage service.
Information stored locally
The application may store the following information locally on the device:
• Selected language;
• Onboarding status;
• Scan results and media fingerprints;
• Thumbnail and fingerprint cache;
• Cleanup history and summary information;
• Advertising-frequency preferences.
This local information is used to improve scanning speed, preserve user preferences and display cleanup results. App-local information is removed when the application is uninstalled or its storage is cleared.
Advertising and third-party data processing
The application integrates the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Testing versions may display official Google sample test advertisements that do not generate revenue.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share technical information for advertising, analytics and fraud-prevention purposes, including:
• IP address, which may be used to estimate general location;
• Application interactions such as application launches, taps and video views;
• Diagnostic information such as launch time, hang rate and energy usage;
• Device or account identifiers, including the Android Advertising ID and App Set ID when available.
Google states that this information is encrypted in transit using TLS. Users can reset or delete their Advertising ID through Android settings.

The application does not contain a separate analytics SDK and does not use advertising data to identify the contents of the user’s photos or videos.
Permissions
The application may request:
• Photo and video access: to scan, compare and preview media selected or authorized by the user;
• Internet and network-state access: to load Google Mobile Ads;
• Advertising ID access: for functionality provided by Google Mobile Ads on supported devices;
• Legacy storage access on older Android versions: to locate photos and videos stored on the device or SD card.
The application does not request access to precise location, contacts, camera, microphone, phone calls, SMS messages or notifications.
Deleting media
Files are deleted only when the user selects them and confirms the Android system deletion request.
Depending on the device and Gallery application, deleted files may first be moved to a recycle bin or trash folder. Storage space may not be released completely until that trash folder is emptied or its retention period expires.
The application can process authorized files located in internal phone storage or on an SD card. Android may request an additional confirmation before files on certain storage locations can be deleted.
Data retention and security
Operatech does not maintain a cloud database containing the user’s photos, videos or scan results.
Because media processing is performed locally, users retain control over their files. No transmission method or software system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but the application minimizes risk by keeping media analysis on the device.
Children
Duplicate Photo Video Cleaner is a general utility application and is not directed at children under 13. Operatech does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when application features, advertising services or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
