# DuoLens Privacy Policy

DuoLens is a camera app that records photos and videos using the rear camera and, on supported devices, the front and rear cameras together. After recording, DuoLens generates a composite "Moment" video locally on the device.

## Photos, Videos, and Audio

DuoLens uses the camera and microphone only after the user grants permission and actively uses the app to shoot photos or videos.

Each recording generates a Moment that may include a composite video, a rear original clip, and a front original clip. All files are saved locally on the user's device under the system media library (e.g. `Movies/DuoLens`). Photos are saved to `Pictures/DuoLens`.

DuoLens does not upload the user's photos, videos, or raw audio to any server.

## Local Temporary Files

During dual-camera recording, DuoLens creates temporary video files in the app's private storage to generate a picture-in-picture or split-screen composite video. These temporary files remain on the device and are automatically cleaned up after the Moment is saved.

## User Preferences

DuoLens stores user preferences locally on the device (e.g. last used scene, filter, filter intensity, layout, ratio, window position, and onboarding status). These preferences are not transmitted to any server.

## Third-Party SDKs

DuoLens integrates Firebase SDK and Meta SDK.

**Firebase** (active when `google-services.json` is configured):

- Firebase Analytics: collects app interaction events and feature usage data to help understand how the app is used.

- Firebase Crashlytics: collects crash logs and diagnostics to help identify and fix stability issues.

**Meta App Events** (active with configured App ID and Client Token):

- Logs app events such as app opens, recording starts, filter selections, scene changes, and composite export completion.

DuoLens explicitly disables advertising ID collection (`facebook_advertiser_id_collection_enabled=false`) and removes Android advertising / AdServices permissions from the app manifest.

## Data That May Be Collected

Depending on the configured SDKs, the app may process:

- App interactions and feature usage events.

- Crash logs and diagnostics.

- Device and app information needed for analytics and crash reporting.

DuoLens does not collect contact information, precise location, contacts, messages, photos, videos, raw audio, or advertising ID.

## Data Sharing

DuoLens does not sell user data.

Analytics and diagnostics data may be processed by Google/Firebase and Meta according to their respective terms and privacy policies.

## Permissions

DuoLens requests:

- `CAMERA` to capture photos and videos.

- `RECORD_AUDIO` to record video audio.

Network permissions (`INTERNET`, network state) are present for Firebase and Meta analytics and crash reporting.

DuoLens does not request media read permissions, contacts, location, notifications, or advertising identifiers.

## Children

DuoLens is not designed for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect children's personal data.
