About Me

I am very excited for this school year. I have been teaching for 22 years, however this is my seventh year at Florence. Before this time I taught in Corvallis as a middle school reading and language arts teacher in grades 5-8. I am thrilled with my position and look forward to teaching an all encompassing curriculum filled with 6 trait writing, young adult literature, and reading comprehension all in conjunction with Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

After attending college and earning my degree while playing volleyball at Western Montana College in Dillon, my husband Pat (also a Western grad) and I lived in Oregon where I taught for four years. We soon decided it was time to move back to Montana to start and raise a family. We have two young boys that definitely keep us active and on our toes. Patrick will be starting his sophomore this fall and Brody will begin seventh grade - hard to believe!.

During my time spent outside of the classroom I can usually be found enjoying my family, reading a novel (check out my blog that you can access through the navigation bar), watching the Food Network, or doing anything active.

I am also the high school volleyball coach and am already proud of the girls and their level of dedication and play!
