Du-It ("we," "our," or "the app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and the username you choose. This is used to authenticate you and identify you to friends you connect with in the app.
Content You Create
We store the tasks, projects, steps, due dates, and related content you create in the app, so that it can sync across your devices and be shared with friends you choose to share it with.
Friend Connections
If you add friends using friend codes, we store the connection between your account and theirs, along with basic information needed to display your friend list (such as username and streak count).
Location Information
If you enable the weather widget, we request access to your device's approximate location to show local weather conditions. This location is sent to a third-party weather service (Open-Meteo) solely to retrieve a forecast, and is not stored by us or linked to your account. You can deny or revoke location access at any time in your device settings without affecting the rest of the app.
App Preferences
We store your widget layout, theme settings, and accent color choice so your app looks the way you left it across sessions and devices.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Notifications
Reminders for your tasks and deadlines are scheduled and delivered locally on your own device. We do not operate a push notification server, and your reminder content is not transmitted to us in order to deliver these notifications.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above only to operate the app's core features: authenticating your account, syncing your content across devices, enabling friend connections and sharing, and displaying local weather.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), a secure cloud platform. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Your Choices
You may edit or delete your tasks, projects, and friend connections at any time within the app. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the email below.
Children's Privacy
Du-It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page.
