The watch sometimes vibrates and she looks to see it in an about to enter battery saver screen with a timeout that she might get to in time to cancel it. Other times just goes to look at the watch and it's on the battery saver minimal home screen.

I tried disabling the battery saver icon/button from the "quick launch" circle of icons when you hold down the top button, no change so it's not that somehow being pressed. That wouldn't show a timeout screen anyway.

However I can't find the setting and l've tried to reproduce it on my watch by going to the "walk" activity screen, where it says "waiting for GPS", but never hitting start. It eventually times out and goes back to the normal watch screen without entering battery saver mode.

I've had this happen too. The other day I noticed that the watch was suddenly displaying a minimal face and it took me a while to work out why, and to find the menu to disable battery saving mode.

It's just happened again now. I know that I didn't have any activity tracking (walkling, cycling etc) turned on. The battery is 70% charged, so it's not being triggered when the battery gets below a threshold charge. I last looked at the watch an hour or so ago, and I haven't touched it since then, apart from to rotate my wrist just now to turn the display on and saw that the display was minimal again (dim brown hands, no other gauges such as battery, number of steps, heart rate, date).

It looks as if both I and 5710117 might be getting apparently random, un-commanded setting of battery saver mode.

My watch is the Venu2 - the one which has a face that is about 40 mm diameter.

I too wish there was a way of disabling battery-saver mode altogether. My battery lasts about 6-7 days with battery saver turned off.

Has there been any response from Garmin technical support as to why this keeps happening? Either the watch is starting an activity when the user didn't want it to, or else battery saver is being triggered by something else. Either way, something needs to be fixed.

My watch has started doing this too in the last few days. I've had the watch since December and it first happened to me a few days ago. It now just happened again and my battery is at 75%. I'm not tracking any activities, nor do I do this often. Has anyone gotten any answers/solutions on this? It's extremely annoying as I cannot even read the screen when it happens.

I disconnected my battery and after I reconnected it when I turn off the ignition I get this message on my touch screen. "Battery Saver System - Off" "Please turn ignition off or start engine". I can't find any information on this. Is it possible that somewhere, hidden, in some menu that I can Turn the Battery Saver System back on or is this a trip to the dealer?

Don't bother testing it. For some reason in these newer vehicles with battery problems the battery will test ok but after replacing it the problems disappear. No idea why but it's a common theme. I'd just go ahead and replace it. Worst case you rule it out and you get at least 3 years of peace of mind.

The old way of testing may have resulted in false findings, saying the battery was good when it really wasn't. Check out this video posted by another member in reply on a different post. May save you some money if you don't end up throwing away a good battery.

Same issue here--keys out of ignition--car in park, etc, etc, etc. Hours/days after car parked in garage--go to garage for something and notice the display is on. Slow to turnover on starts, with battery replaced just over a year ago under warranty. 'Couldn't find anything wrong'. Today an oil change at my local Goodyear shop. "Looks like the battery is going south." This seems to be such a prevalent problem with the 2012 Edge. What does it take to get a TSB out to the dealers to check for the park switch, bms, etc issues tgat seem to be draining the batteries. Multiple trips to the dealer that accomplish nothing is not good service. I'll be biting the bullet and getting a new battery, but not one from the Ford dealer this time. My Goodyear guy is much more accommodating--smaller, trusted shop.

You need to test your alternator and voltage regulator. I am willing to bet a lot of batteries are dying because the Ford system does not register the failure just like my system sends no Battery Light. Yet the voltage regulator is bad and sends a battery saver notice. Check out how I determined this to be the case.

Had the same message on my 2013 Edge. Read some where that if you turn everything off and don't touch it for 8 hours the battery system will reset itself. First I charged the battery, then let it sit the suggested time. It reset and I don't have the message now. But I do plan to replace the batter since it's 3 years old and winter is not that far away.

Apps running in the background are blocked. Users can allow specific individual apps to run while in battery saver mode. Certain categories of apps continue to run. For example, VOIP apps are not blocked.

WNS is blocked by default on Windows 10 Mobile. Users can chose individual apps to always be allowed to run while battery saver is on. There is no setting to allow WNS across all apps. This is the same behavior as Windows Phone 8.1.

UPDATE: turns out my phone doesn't have a gyroscope and that's why it's not working (as if accelerometer is not enough for battery saver), so if you have this problem better check out if your phone model has a gyroscope. If you do and it still doesn't work, check the "screen rotation" option -- it must be turned on in order for battery saver to work.

My battery saver says this option is unavailable? All My other phones never had this problem... Also as battery is taking forever to charge...is using connection to 5G wifi Rather than regular wifi connection making charging take slower?

The next step is to control the battery saver in Windows 10. Though I can read the state of it using GetSystemPowerStatus, I can't find a way to enable/disable it programmatically. Are there any functions in Windows API to do this?

You seem to be out of luck. MSDN docs show no API through which the battery saver could be controlled. Examining SettingsHandlers_OneCore_BatterySaver shows that only GetSetting is exposed. Even SetPowerState in WMI Win32_Battery is not implemented -- I know this is not exactly what you need, but it shows that Microsoft has not gotten around to exposing the battery-related functionality. At this point, instead of reverse-engineering the button click, your best bet is probably to emulate it with something like AutoHotKey, however beware of the pitfalls with that.

Waze has this new "battery saver" feature that dims the screen when there is a long way until the next turn/action. As I understand, currently this feature only kicks in when the battery level is low (

I suggest to add an option to keep it ALWAYS on. Because I would like to use it all the time... Even if the battery level is not low, I'd like to save it for the rest of the day. One way to implement this would be, for example, to make the threshold battery level adjustable - so it would be 25% by default, and I would set it to 100% (=always on).

Please add the option to turn on Battery Saver for every drive or just leave it permanently enabled. I really like how it saves my battery & helps avoid image burn on my display, but it is annoying to have to manually enable it each time I use Waze.

Having the ability to always use battery saver is essentially equivalent to introducing a "new" Screen Saver feature - ie even people only interested in protecting their displays will love using this option.

To avoid having to toggle battery saver constantly, I sometimes get the route overview and turn waze off afterwards. It's probably in Waze's best interest to not annoy its users and increase the likelihood of being used for longer periods of time. Having the option to have battery saver on always is definitely going to do that in my case.

I have a Lenovo laptop that's a few years old, which has Windows 10 installed. A few weeks ago, with no obvious cause, it got stuck in perma-battery saver mode - if I click the battery icon in the taskbar, the power mode button says "Battery saver" and is grayed out so I can't click it, even when the laptop is plugged in and regardless of the actual battery level (which is reported correctly, and the laptop charges completely normally and has a perfectly normal battery life, as far as I've been able to tell).

In the control panel power options, I still have the "Balanced" plan selected and all the options are what I chose, but they seem to be overridden by some other set of settings that I'm assuming the battery saver mode is responsible for - I've set the lid close action to sleep, for instance, and that's still selected in the power options, but since this happened closing the lid has caused it to hibernate instead, which is pretty bad since this laptop has always completely refused to properly restore from hibernation when not plugged in if it's been hibernating for too long (it just shuts down again on the Lenovo logo screen when it tries to boot).

I've of course restarted it multiple times, as well as disabling and reenabling both of the battery drivers shown in the device manager, but to no avail. I also turned off battery saver mode altogether in the settings app, but it's still on battery saver.

Battery Doctor (Battery Saver) is a tool that helps you save battery power and tells you approximately how much life your battery has left. By using many different features, it lets you improve (in some cases) its duration.

The method for doing this consists of a program based on three charges that might be able to give your battery some extra life. The most important feature for improving your battery's life is the tool that deletes processes, which is included on Battery Doctor (Battery Saver). ff782bc1db
