Speech & Debate is a continuously developing activity at David Thibodaux STEM Magnet Academy. It is available for all DTSMA students grades 6-12 who have an interest in the art of acting, debating, or public speaking. The goal of Speech & Debate is to help students find their voice and realize how it can change the world. Students do this through exploration of persuasion, narrative, argumentation, and other components of communication.

Speech & Debate gives students the chance to travel across the nation, earn scholarship money, and develop lifelong friendships.

As a result of restrictions set in place by LPSS with regard to extracurricular activities/meetings during Phase II of the Covid-19 pandemic, practices will be by request via Zoom.
