What is it?

This is where you explore the different materials and different construction methods to manufacture your design. For each part you need to explore multiple methods to construct your product and the types of materials you could use. In alot of cases the material type will determine the construction method.

You must show that you have tested different construction methods and constructing mock-ups before manufacturing your final product.

Tips?

- Ensure you are stating the type of construction by name

- Colour your chosen method to make it stand out

- Spend time now to get the design right, think about how you

will make it and the materials you use.

- Its easier to do this when you have got most of your project

made.

- You can do this whilst making your product and do a quick test of a construction method as you go along.

- Take loads of photos to use on this page.

- Don't take pictures of your main product being made - its obvious.

Content Checklist...

It must contain:

- Introduction to page content

- Sketches, CAD models and physical modelling using real

materials

- Every manufacturing, joint and component has to be

considered in a minimum of 3 methods.

- Consider both construction methods and material choices

- Drawn in isometric or perspective

- Rendered where required

- detailed drawing - of the joints

- Relevant Annotation of the designs

- Explain your thinking and your choices.

- Direct the user around the page like they are reading a story, so they fully understand what is on the page.

- Explain how it would be made.

- Make it clear what has been decided.
