What is it?

An introduction to your coursework, stating what you are doing and why.

This should come in these sections:

              3+ different short descriptions of design problems

              Selection of your design problem

    Detailed Design Problem 200+ words

              Evidence

      Target Market/Client description

              Design Brief

The design problem is a description of why this product is needed and why; giving as much detail and facts as possible.

Evidence is needed in forms of photos, articles and surveys to support the need for the product.

The target market/Client information, is applicable if you already know who you are designing for and what they want/need in the product.

The design brief is a sentence stating what you are designing and making, very much like a research question.

From this stage to the beginning of designing ideas, state what research you need to find out.

Tips?

- The design problem should not say what you are going to do, 

  just what the problem is and what is needed.

- The design brief should be as concise as possible - no waffle.

- For the brief, don't design it for yourself, make it a wider 

  market.

- Add photos to help explain your design problem.

 Content Checklist...

It must contain:

     - Introduction to the page and your 3 design problems

     - 3+ different initial design problems you're considering

            - At least 100 words explaining the situation.

    - Selection of the design problem and why you have chosen it.

    - The Situation/Problem.

            - At least 200 words explaining the situation.

                - What the current situation is.

                - Facts that are associated with this.

                - Yours or an others personal situation.

                - What is there now.

                - What is causing the problem.

                - What is needed to solve the problem.

    - Photos and evidence to support the Situation/Problem.

    - Target Market/Client information 

- Who they are and why they have been chosen

- What they want / need in a product

- What is their issue/design need.

- The Design Brief

            - Design and make .......  for ....... .
