The transformation from industrial towards service economies has been progressively blurring distinction between manufacturing and services. More manufacturers are involved into the services activities, and more wholesale companies are engaged in the manufacturing (factory-less goods manufacturers). Fabric or Factory-free economy, Industry 4.0, Digitalization, and Servitization are the concepts and in the same time strategies towards Service Economy. Technologies including advanced analytics, AI, the IoT, cloud computing, and human-machine interfaces are the enablers and in the same time drivers of this (r)evolution. For instance, an implementation of the Industry 4.0 concept becomes possible with dramatic technological advances driven by the Internet of Things, including open software platforms, open communications, open data models, and powerful embedded processors. Further, Industry 4.0 has expanded the possibilities of digital transformation and increased its importance to the organization. It comprises five functional areas that have validity across enterprises and different sectors of industry: data collection and data processing, assistance systems, networking and integration, decentralization and service orientation, self-organization and autonomy. Besides, digital transformation comes with a shift in the customer behavior. Customers are now more informed than ever before, much more demanding, and most are no longer willing to adapt to a product, but rather expect the product to adapt to them. Technologies development and digitalization create enormous opportunities for companies to increase customer value by streamlining processes, increasing quality, creating new revenue streams, and reducing production costs. The other weighty notion to consider is Servitization. This is the process of companies transforming from simply fabricating a product to including service in the total product offering. Servitization and Industry 4.0 are considered as the most recent trends transforming industrial companies. Servitization is mainly focused on adding value to the customer (demand-pull), while Industry 4.0 is frequently related to adding value to manufacturing process (technology-push).

Thus, the purpose of this workshop is to publicize recent research results, emphasize research challenges and open issues, and promote further research interest and activities in transformation towards Service Economy through Factory-free, Industry 4.0, Digitalization, and Servitization concepts, by encouraging contributions tackling the problem from different angles. Topics of theoretical or applied concern include, but are not limited to:

Submissions:

Paper Format

The submitted paper must be formatted according to the guidelines of Procedia Computer Science, MS Word Template, Latex, Template Generic, Elsevier.

Paper Length

Submitted technical papers must be no longer than 6 pages for full papers, and 4 pages for work in progress, including all figures, tables and references.

Paper Submission

Authors are requested to submit their papers to https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=dswffe19 in PDF format before the deadline.

Publication

All accepted papers will be scheduled for oral presentations and will be included in the conference proceedings published by Elsevier Science in the open-access Procedia Computer Science series on-line. At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register and attend the conference to present the work.
