Through several decades, Late Prof. Abhijit Mookerjee contributed significantly to the development of the theory of random alloys by his ‘Augmented Space Recursion’ method along with diverse methodologies in condensed matter theory. During his illustrious career, he has produced many Ph.D.s who are now established as faculty members in several academic institutions.
We will celebrate his 80th birthday next year for his remembrance through a 3-day scientific conference, titled ‘Disorder and Size Effects in Quantum Materials’. His students and colleagues will share their personal memories in a dedicated session.
This event will be held in S.N. Bose National Center for Basic Sciences, Kolkata, India, during Feb. 4-5, 2026.
If anyone is interested to participate, please drop an email to Biplab.Sanyal@physics.uu.se or rudrab@srmist.edu.in before 25th January.
Scientific talks on relevant topics will be presented.
Memories of Prof. Mookerjee will be brought in by former students and colleagues
