Tax Curriculum

According to DepEd, they have proposed the “matatag” curriculum. The purpose of this is to reinforce the educational materials by giving out self-learning modules to the students. As they promise to take action on this plan, the materials was only given out after three years. How will this curriculum help us in our education? Its time to end this argument.
For starters, these are the reasons why this curriculum has been chaotic and nothing but a disaster. DepEd started the “matatag” curriculum three years ago and we are receiving the modules nowadays. The learning government created this material in order for students to continue their studies while at home safe from the pandemic. Why give out a material when the main purpose of it already passed? When would you like to receive these self learning modules? Before the pandemic ends when no one is available to help you professionally plus you aren’t allowed to go outside due to the lockdown? Or When you are finally able to go to school and study normally and freely?
Put yourself in this kind of situation, you as a citizen and also a student continuously pay taxes in order for projects like this to take place only for it to be given out after three years. How would you feel if the government promised you for a better education in a time like the pandemic, only for it to actually take action while the quarantine is over?
You might be thinking “I can just use the modules now”. The purpose of this module was to only replace teachers due to the pandemic, if you’re going to use it then what’s the purpose of teachers teaching you? That’s very ignorant to do isn’t it?
Self learning modules only leads to limited kinds of knowledge that you may receive while having a teacher can elaborate and answer questions you may have that’s related to the topic you have. Reading the module can’t make the student understand that much because they are only reading it. If we are going to have to continue using self learning modules, then why bother going to school?
Fortunately, if the DepEd government was more attentive to their citizens and the students that’s affected by this curriculum, we may or may not have a better education system. The teachers could just continue teaching the students, the money could have been spent on a much more important or helpful project. Education is the number one priority especially to the students, the government could propose a better project that won’t delay.
