I believe there are three fundamental principles one must know about Leadership. The following are truths I've learned while teaching high school students and working with adults in a variety of fields.
There is no lone warrior who can be called an amazing leader because he did everything on his own. The fact is, it takes a great group of people to make something amazing happen. I believe every great organization fits into that description, and I strive to always be a part great organizations that are worthy of the investment of time and energy.
Managers are paid to complete a check list. Leaders are there to accomplish goals and inspire those around them. I strive daily to be seen as a leader, not just a manager. I want to inspire those around me to achieve excellence in all things, not force them to complete a to do list.
This is the most important principle to me. I believe we are all here to learn how to serve one another. By striving for the betterment of all, we naturally lift the individual. No great leader became such because he told people what to do. Great leaders come from getting on their hands and knees with their friends, and working along with them. Weiser is in a need of service and I hope to always find myself in the middle of it. I want to serve my family, my community, and my Heavenly Father.
