Why CITY COUNCIL
Weiser is important to me. It's as simple as that. When something is important to you, you want to take care of it. I want to be a caretaker of Weiser and more than that, I want to be in a position where I can be a voice for my community in a way I've not been able to before. I seek to educate, inspire, and serve my fellow community members.
While other people may be able to go on and on about what they "plan" to do, I will do no such thing. The responsibilities of City Council can be narrowed down to three main tasks:
1) Balance the budget
2) Establish Policies and Procedures
3) Resolve issues and pass resolutions
To make promises of doing something outside of these basic responsibilities would be to mislead you to think I had the power to do something that I truly could not. What I can do, however, is listen to your needs and concerns, and help you find a way to develop that into a policy, procedure, or resolution that will meet your needs and the community's needs.
I want to be your cheerleader!
There is something deep seeded in me that wants to be active in my community and feel like I'm a part of it. As my time in this community grows, so does my love and desire to be involved in the many different parts of it. As I reflect and look deeper into my childhood, I know I was raised to serve others. Service is one of the core teachings of my Christian Faith and it is something I strive to live by daily. Being a part of City Council would be a new challenge for me and is one that excites me to my core.
