DS AIDE

DOVER SHERBORN FOR ANTI-RACISM, INCLUSION, DIVERSITY & EQUITY

ENSURING EXCELLENCE for ALL Students

#WEareDS

In 2017, DS launched the #WEareDS initiative to promote unity across the district. By way of the Cultural Proficiency Plan, many efforts have been underway since then to improve the DS experience for all.

In the wake of the events of Spring 2020, the district launched a multi-stakeholder group to further its work around anti-racism, inclusion, diversity and equity - DS AIDE.

DS AIDE MISSION

To foster a school community free from bias and discrimination, and ensure a sense of belonging and equitable outcome for all Dover Sherborn students.

ACTION PLAN

AIDE will actualize its mission through the work of six subcommittees.

  • Implement culturally responsive instructional practices focused on individual student experience and need.

  • Foster the development of social justice minded graduates and active citizens.

  • Maintain high expectations for all students and use a multi-tiered system of support to eliminate barriers to success.

DATA & ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Gather baseline data in each of these areas via a district-wide equity audit.

  • Develop a mechanism for ongoing data collection and assessment to measure progress towards stated goals.

HIRING & SUPPORTING EDUCATORS

  • Hire faculty from a diverse pool of candidates committed to these goals.

  • Facilitate professional development opportunities for educators in support of their AIDE goals.
