1. Information BrewLab stores
BrewLab may store or process the following information on the user's device:
- User-created recipes, bean information, water profiles, and brewing logs
- App settings and brewing defaults
- Home screen widget summary data for recent brewing activity
- Bluetooth device names or connection status used for compatible scale connection
BrewLab does not currently require account registration or sign-in, and does not sync user data to a developer-operated server.
2. Permissions used by the app
- Bluetooth, Bluetooth Scan, Bluetooth Connect: used to discover and connect to BLE scales
- Location permission: required on some Android versions for BLE device discovery
- Vibration: used for timer and feedback interactions inside the app
BrewLab does not use location permission for background tracking, advertising, or location profiling.
3. Why this information is used
- To save and display brewing records
- To manage recipes and brewing preferences
- To connect with BLE scales and support live measurement features
- To provide widget information and app settings
- To support local backup and restore features on the user's device
4. Sharing and transfer of data
BrewLab does not sell personal information and does not share user-entered brewing data with third parties. Based on the current app behavior, user data such as recipes, brewing logs, beans, and water profiles stays on the user's device unless the user manually exports a backup.
5. Advertising and analytics
BrewLab uses Google Mobile Ads and Google User Messaging Platform to request consent and display ads. Google may process device information, advertising identifiers, IP address, and
consent status for ad delivery, measurement, and consent management.
BrewLab does not use separate analytics or crash reporting SDKs as part of its normal operation. User-created brewing data is not sold or intentionally shared with third parties.
6. Data retention and deletion
BrewLab stores most information locally on the user's device. Users can edit or delete data inside the app. If the app is uninstalled, most locally stored app data is removed with it.
If a user manually creates backup files, those files may remain in device storage or another user-selected location until the user deletes them.
7. Children's privacy
BrewLab is not specifically directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Security
BrewLab is designed to keep data mainly on the user's device. However, no storage method or device environment can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
