Those observations are not necessarily contradictory.
They are measuring different things.
And that difference is the key to understanding DrugHub.

The dates and methodologies matter.
UNSW used a structured research programme that monitored 17 cryptomarkets from February 2025 through January 2026. CBS made a later journalistic observation in June 2026. UNODC's ranking is based on blockchain analysis rather than catalogue counting.
Therefore, these numbers should not be combined into a single artificial growth chart.
But they can be compared.
And that comparison reveals something important.

But the two observations were not collected using the same methodology.
UNSW explicitly describes its own sampling schedule, including changes in snapshot frequency and periods where crawling was incomplete or not achievable.
CBS was a journalistic observation made for a specific investigation.
Therefore, the defensible conclusion is narrower:
Two independent sources recorded substantially different DrugHub listing counts at different points in 2026.
That is evidence of scale and persistence.

This does not mean that UNODC or UNSW is wrong.
They are answering different questions.
And that gives us a much stronger definition of DrugHub's position:
