Currently I am a Senior Lecturer in Economics and Course Coordinator at the Institute of Innovation, Science and Sustainability (IISS), Federation University Australia in Ballarat, Australia. I obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University) in 2018. My research interests lie in Development Economics and Applied Microeconometrics with a focus on inequality, welfare, financial development, public policy and development outcomes. My research is published under the name "Quanda Zhang".
What's new?
29 Apr. 2026. My paper "Household Adaptation to Economic Transformation: The Role of Financial Inclusion in Enhancing Welfare" has been published by the Review of Economics of the Household (ABDC Ranking: A; Scopus: Top 3%). This study examined the effect of financial inclusion on household welfare.
24 Feb. 2026. My paper "Water stress and industrial firm productivity" has been published by the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management (JEEM)(ABDC Ranking: A*; Scopus: Top 10%). This research sheds new light on how climate change can impede economics development.
1 Aug. 2025. I have been appointed as an Editor at the Journal of Applied Economics. I manage the section of Development Economics.
