biographY

Pankaj Sharma (Varanasi, INDIA, 1976), presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Technology and Engineering, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, INDIA. He earned his B.Sc. (Chemistry Hons.) and M. Sc. (Organic Chemistry) from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India  and  Ph. D. (Chemistry) from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, India. He entered into the profession of academics by choice. Prime goal of his life is to encourage, inspire and motivate the young talents to prepare them to achieve their aim and contribute their best to the society. 

He has been carrying out research in the area of Pharmaceutical chemistry, Nanotechnoogy, Energy storage materials, Bioplastic , Heterogeneous catalysis, Mesoporous materials, Task Specific Ionic Liquids (TSIL), Green chemistry and Carbon capture and sequestration(CCS). Till now he has published 18 peer reviewed papers among reputed journals out of them some are SCI and SCIE. In addition to this, he 01 Book chapter in Elsevier. He is Editor of 02 Books in MDPI. He is also Guest Editor of 04 MDPI Journals.  He has been granted 02 Patents also, one Korean and one US Patent. He has been published 02 Indian Patents. His h index is 12 and i 10 index is 11.

Before Ph.D., he acquired the skills of a researcher by working in the India’s most advanced CSIR group of laboratories like Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) and Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI). But his research skills achieved a new height by working with his Korean mentors, Dr. Il Hyun Baek at Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER), Prof. Chang Sik Ha at Pusan National University (PNU) and Prof. Jae Won Lee at Dankook University (DU) in Republic of Korea respectively in their well established and highly advanced laboratory during his postdoctoral  experience. Presently, he is working in collaboration with Prof. Aharon Gendanken, Bar-Ilan University, Israel and Prof. Michael Renz, University de Valencia, Spain.
