"Drops of Jupiter" peaked at number five on the US Billboard Hot 100 in June 2001.[5] On the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, the song ascended to the top 10 during its 49th week, marking the longest climb to the top 10 on that tally by any act, and spent 54 weeks on the ranking.[6][7] The song has sold and streamed over 7,000,000 units since its digital release in 2003, earning a seven-times platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[8]

Well I just let my mom hear it. she said "I don't even see how that relates to a father and daughter". I was like ummm the song doesn't have to have the exact words father or daughter in it, its just a good song. She still doesn't get it, and doesn't like it, go figure...

Hmmm I loooove that song, but to me, coming from a father, it sounds more like what he would say to his daughter after she broke up with a boyfriend/fiance/husband, rather than what he would say to her when she gets married. It's kind of like "you left to go find yourself and chase a falling star, and you're finally back because things didn't work out, but you're a little different now." It's a great song but in my opinion, not really fitting for a father/daughter dance.
